I have upgraded to 1.2.9
The process on Vista Home Premium was not smooth unfortunatly.
I was able to get things working (eventually) with the
sc delete "gb-pvr recording service"
line executed from the command line.

I have 3 tuners that i fully utilize. Seeing conflicts because of the pre and post padding, i searched and saw to apply the patch again that's in the 1.1.5 sticky. This patch is applied.

I have tried to setup new recordings, but the program freezes, with me having to 'End Task' to get it to close. I have tried quick records and normal records and this happens with both.

All else that i use in GB-PVR seems to be working normally.

I have attached all my logs (the sticky says to include them all...for future reference should i wait and see if there are only specific ones needed?)
Most recent, i tried to do a quick record, 'End Task'ed to close, rebooted, zipped the logs...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try deleting the "c:\users\<user account>\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files\devnz" directory.

I have the virtual store folder, but it is empty. I checked all user accounts (although it's just mine as the main). I do have 'Show Hidden files' active.

Any other thoughts?
Thanks Smile

I'm not really sure then. I cant see an obvious cause in the logs. Have you rebooted since upgrading?

Yes, a few times.
I guess i'll try a complete uninstall/reinstall.
Thanks for looking into it for me Smile

i'm thinking that may be the cause..[differing versions]

Argh, I missed that bit when I was skim reading. Dont ever apply a patch from an older release. You'll end up with a broken GB-PVR if you applied a 1.1.5 patch on top of 1.2.9.

I thought it odd instruction to apply an older patch! And of course i can't find where i read this, yet i do check dates and versions and such and i swear it was someone with 1.2.9. Ah well.

I figured i'd give a repair another try before wiping everything. I tried the /passive command (in cmd navigate to where the .msi is and type gbpvr10209.msi /passive). It didn't look like it did anything, but after that i was able to schedule an item. Granted it kicks me back to the main menu (TV Guide, Recordings, Etc) each time - but it doesn't freeze!!

Thanks for your time, i appreciate it Smile
