Ah yes you are. My mistake. After looking at the filtercheck log again, it does not look like the drivers are loaded properly. The tuner filter is missing an output pin. You can try reinstalling the driver.

Should I do the same? or do you need to see some log files to determine that? And which log files would it be?

Thanks in advance

Sorry jeeves5454, I missed your post. Start a new thread here in the hardware forum or in the support forum (since it's a different type of card) and post your config*.log files after attempting a scan.

Hi,

I have been trying to set up in the clear QAM for my card (also a new gbpvr user) without any luck.

Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit
DA-1N1-E QAM capable drivers (6.2.100.12)
GB-PVR 1.2.13

The analog portion of the card runs fine under Vista MCE with live TV, QAM obviously doesn't work. I disabled MCE services (4 in all, and also all startup items associated with ehome path) and rebooted.

I configured gbpvr per wiki instructions (e.g., evr/vmr9/system default for playback), and for capture sources, I have BDA recording plugin with VistaView Saber (QAM) type2 selected, EPG XMLTV, and when I select Map digital channels to EPG channels, I get the following error

GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use.

Clicking Ok takes me to the following dialog box:
Unhandled exception has occurred in your applications. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application with close immediately. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Clicking Details brings up a lot of information, starting with the following:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

at System.Windows.Forms.Timer.TimerNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

(with a lot more afterwards).

Is there something wrong with my configuration? Thanks for any help!

Can you zip and post a copy of your config.*.log files showing a scan attempt?

There seems to be a problem with your Vista install or at least the BDA component.
Code:
2008-08-04 12:38:21.265    ERROR    Failed to get IATSCTuningSpace interface

You can try right clicking c:\Windows\inf\bda.inf and selecting "Install".

That didn't seem to help anything. I have an HP Pavilion m9200t and can re-install (off HP's screwy OEM recovery disks) 32-bit or 64-bit Vista Home Premium SP1 - any suggestions for 32-bit or 64-bit? I've only got 3gb RAM.

Thanks.

You may try a non-destructive restore first so that you don't have to reinstall and reconfigure everything. As for 64 bit vs 32 bit, there's really not much benefit to 64 bit in an HTPC in my opinion.

Hi,

Well I tried re-installing both the 64- and 32-bit Vista Home Premium SP1 recovery discs from HP without any luck. The only things I did upon restoring the factory default was to install the following:

1. VistaView drivers from vistaview.tv (via setup.exe)
2. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 redistributable packages
3. Microsoft .NET 3.5 (includes .NET 2 SP1)
4. GB-PVR 1.2.13

Config as described in previous posts. Same error as before. I can only confirm that Vista MCE has no trouble with analog tuning in live tv (from previous install - did not run MCE on this restored image).

Any other suggestions? Thanks.
