Hi everyone. First of all I'd like to say I love GB-PVR. I discovered it about a month ago right after I got an HVR-1600 to complement my old Avermedia MCE 1500. I tried several other solutions for PVR software but none seemed to work quite as well as GB-PVR or be as easy to configure. I didn't try MythTV because I read that it wasn't very compatible with the HVR-1600. Anyway, my compliments go to the development community of this software. With that I have a couple of concerns/questions.

I have several clearQAM channels mapped to their analog equivalents in my EPG. I've noticed that all my digital channels are of a specific volume level, and all of my analog channels are slightly higher in volume. Not a lot, just enough to make me want to change it. Are there any options or plugins in GBPVR that allow presetting the volume or pre-amp or whatever you want to call it of the digital channels so that they're the same volume level as the analog? I'd like to boost their volume a little.

Also, and this is more of just a general concern, but ever since set up my digital channels, PVRX2 seems to be crashing a lot more than it used to. When I had only analog it was crash every now and then but not really enough to be annoying. Now it crashes just a little too often for me to be happy with it. It seems to do most of its crashing when it's changing from an analog channel to a digital channel, or vice versa. Should I switch to the older GBPVR? Is it just that PVRX2 is still buggy? Is it my hardware? Another time when it will crash it when it's changing skins via the Skins plugin using the Community3 set of skins.

Thanks for any replies.

Sorry, there isnt really anything like this. All I can give you is a "maybe in a future release" comment.

You may find some audio decoders, like the ffdshow audio decoder, give the option to equalize the volume across the channels. If not tried it myself, but I'm sure I've seen something like that described in the past.

I'm not aware of any issue around that, but if you reproduce the problem then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log, I'll take a look.

Thanks sub, you seem to really be on the ball at this forum. Thanks for the quick replies. I'll live with the volume thing. It's no big deal. I'll try to recreate the crashing problem later, thanks for offering to help me fix that.

hhmmmm....

This could explain my serious New problem (march 2008) with volume.

In the past, I could have TV-onscreen on my monitor, with the volume turned down,

while I listened to internet Radio.

This is actually very very valuable for me.

This doesn't work now that I updated. The GBPVR volume (arrow keys) is now the MASTER VOLUME FOR THE ENTIRE COMPUTER.

Not good.

Perhaps I need to go back to an old version of GBPVR to have that nice separate volume??

Nothing has changed with the volume control stuff in a long time. What do you have it set to in the config app? "master volume" or "local volume"?

Awesome!

I can't tell you how pleased this little thing has made me. It's like finding a $50 bill.
