I've tried several solutions to solve this issue with no luck.

I updated the EPG program about a month ago, which I don't think caused this issue as it was working fine until I started the play with the EWA (I think).

I tried the SQL solution to only have GBPVR give me an error about a bad configuration.

I have been using MCE05 to pull my listings from. I think I noticed the file where it shows all the listings contains the 0000. ( I don't remember where I was looking) This is why I tried the SQL fix.

any help is appreciated.

thanks,
Jeremy

I schedule a recording (set to record all eps), it will set to record every show in the guide. It will also record the same show even though it has already been recorded and not deleted.

the checkmark for don't record dups is checked.

Make sense?

If you're using MCE05 to extract XMLTV listings, then it cant tell that one show is a duplicate of another. The name and subtitle supplied in xmltv are not enough to tell this.

You need to be using Schedules Direct or CT TV Listings to get the episode information that is used for duplicate checking.

Nothing has changed. It has always required the datadirect unique show identifier to be available for before it'll try doing duplicate checking (for example, 'thursday nights episode of south park is the same saturday afternoons episode').

I've done some more digging and found the reason why GBPVR doesn't 'know' when a show has already been recorded or not.

in the output of the xmlTV there is a
<episode-num system="mce_progid">EP002131823...

I was looking in the old output.xml file and noticed it was:
<episode-num system="dd_progid">

I just did a search and replace and tried again and worked. GBPVR reads the dd_progid fine and knows when a show is a duplicate.

So NOW how do I get GBPVR to read the new mce_progid as oppose to the dd_progid? or how do I get the MCE05xmltvtoEPG to output the dd_progid

I hope this makes sense?

You have to get your MCE grabber modified to produce the ="dd_progid" format. This is the "datadirect unique show identifier" I referred to above.
