For initial setup, what do i need to do to get my adaptec 3610 to work with this program. i am not sure how to get the television to appear.

You need to setup a capture source for this device in the config app.

To do this, you will need to setup an EPG Source. The easiest option for US users used to be CT TV Listings, but thats going away soon, so you're probably need to try the free trial of SchedulesD irect.

i have an epg source set up. i was able to figure that out. i am at the stage where i get sound, but no video. im not sure of where to get the log files to help trouble shoot this.

Do you have an MPEG2 video decoder installed? ie, is there any options other than 'system default' listed on the playback tab of the config app?

my goal is to watch tv on my computer. i can hear it, just cant see it. i had the tuner working with beyond tv, but thats an expensive program for alot of stuff i wont use. i just want the ability. but this confirmed my tuner works.

added intervideo. now the screen is not the same color. all black but i can see a lighter section of black where the picture should be.

Can you try starting live tv, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log files?

To be honest, I'm not really sure what to suggest. Those logs look ok.

Are you postive you selected the correct input source? ie svideo vs composite?

Do you see any video if you try running the tuning assistant, even if just snow?

im not sure how to properly run the tuning assistant. i am using an external usb tv tuner. its input is from my direct tv satellite box via composite input. so am i suppose to use the tuning assistant with cable or antenna?
