Getting a 'flat' main menu

I'm creating my own skin and I was wondering if there was a way to get a 'flat' main menu like the one in the old UI for PVRX2 rather than the fisheye type one?

I want to create a menu style similar to the one below


But the nearest I can get is this...


I tried changing MenuType in the XML file but the only one I could change to was horizontal.

Also I did a search but couldn't find an answer - is there any way to change the black colour of the listings and container box and the white border?

As of right now, you cannot stop the selected button from enlarging.

The black color and white border in popups are controlled by the NamedColors in the baseskin.xml file.

Shame about the menu, hopefully that option will come in a later version. Thanks for the black colour and white border, I looked through the baseskin.xml film but must have missed it.

Hi Fatman, just edited that bit in the xml file but that is just the popups as the name says the bit I'm talking about is the black blocks in the listing as seen here...

Sorry, I mis-understood you. I tend to skim read sometimes.

You would have to ask sub this, but I assume it is due to there being no data and it is by default is coloured black (I have seen this myself and just wrote it off as "one of those things").

Big fan of the dark backgrounds and such BTW, looks good.
