I have no ML2 log (do I need to set an option on?) but here's my PVRX2 log

edit: I tried with both the default blue skin and community3 (latest) and still no album art. If I press "mode" in the default Music Library plugin I can see album art there. (if that matters)

No worries about the log. Couple of things.

I can't tell if you have either of the tag libraries taglib-sharp or ultraid3 I see it testing, but it doesn't tell me the results. I think you only have Ultraid3lib.dll

Can you try the same thing again, but with stupid logging turned on. Especially the part where you select an album and play it.

I tried playing them with the default ML and nothing there either.

How can I find out if they have DRM?

Not sure, does Windows media player tell you? That will be why they don't play in ML2 - looks like direct show (what GBPVR and ML2 use for playing music) can't play them.

I don't have either tag library. I deleted one or the other quite a while ago because of some change you made... can't remember what that was exactly.

I checked in Windows Media Player under "Media file usage" and it said the files are not protected. ...and after doing a quick search in Google, these tracks are in fact "DRM-free".

Well that may have something to do with it..

I can't see it trying to show the art of the item - but also can see it reporting that it's checked the art...

I thought I had more logging in this area...

Because I can't remember, if, in the absence of tag readers if it continues to tray and load album art. It should. Also if you've rescanned, again, I can't remember if in the absence of tag readers if it goes looking for the file based art. Again it should - in a perfect world.. But it may not be something I've explicitly tested.

Does the database list that tracks have album art? there is a HasArt field on each track. Then if it doesn't it may be a skin issue. Its just I can't see any skin errors.

How can I view the DB file? Is there any free software? I had nuked & re-scanned with the last version of ML2 without the tag libraries and I had album art showing then.

OK, I used SQLiteSpy to view it... pretty much all of my MP3 entries in the musicLibrary table have a value of "1" for the hasArt column.

Ok thats good.

Have you got the latest Community skin as well?? Although you said that blue skin had no art as well didn't you.

All I can think of is a skin error.

Stuck....can you start it up again, play some tracks with art, including skip track a couple of times.....and give me the MusicLibrary2.log and the pvrx2.exe.log. Verify that you are on debug logging, flush turned on, and stupid logging as well.

Then post both of those logs.
