So,
I finally built my new computer (see sig) and have been using GBPVR now for months. Got a second Nova card at Christmas time, and succesfully been recording and watching etc. Had some issues (record stopped working, second card stopped working) so deciced it was time to clean up and sort out.

Started last night and got the second card going, but the couldn't veiw live TV. Updated a few drivers, then .Net3.5. Things got worse and worse so I decided I'd do a 'system restore' back to the way things were and start again.

Well then .Net 2 wouldn't work, cards weren't recognised etc etc etc!! Have downloaded and tried latest Hauppauge drivers, tried latest GBPVR, tried going back to older GBPVR and tried to get it to install older card drivers but nothing! And as well now all them there BDA things don't work. Tried to install
them (?) again but it keeps coming back to this.....

Any help would be appreciated. Please speak s l o w l y as I don't speak the computer so good! What obvious thing am I missing, or have I scrambled everything so much it don't want to play anymore? And I was going to come on and ask such intelligant questions too!!

Looks like BDA is broken. Try right clicking "c:\windows\inf\bda.inf" and select "Install".

Thanks whurlston! That fixed everything but the card drivers....maybe it will cure itself overnight. Then I can get on to the sensible questions!

You might have to reinstall the card drivers after repairing the BDA core components.

Well I've fixed all that. It looks like it wasn't loading all the driver components....very frustrating and no definitive, ahh, thats what was wrong moment.
Anyway, we now move on to the more pressing issue (in a new thread), I've got both cards working but no live TV!
Thanks again whurlston.

The live TV buffer folder defaults to C:\temp. Good idea to check this.

Yes, folder is definately there, empty, and ready to go.
Several different logs. Which one is the right one (or two) to post to see whats going on?
