Brian

The new version gives the same result. The attached logs are for good changes between Heat, Kerrang and Smooth and then a hang when I change to Mojo. I changed the order of the tuners so I think that this was using a Nova-T PCI tuner.

<Motivation> Keep up the good work </Motivation>

Thanks

Urrrm, you seem to have renamed your cap. sources but the order of the hardware is the same. The BoardName logged is the friendly name, e.g., My Capture Source. The CardType is the actual hardware type.

Code:
29/04/2008 18:19:09.281 Adding [B]BoardName:[/B] [color=Red]USB Two[/color] [B]CardType:[/B] [color=Red]Hauppauge Nova-T (90002)[/color] BoardNum: 1 CaptureOID: 1 AllocOrder: 1
29/04/2008 18:19:09.281 Adding BoardName: PCI Two CardType: Hauppauge Nova-T (90002) BoardNum: 2 CaptureOID: 2 AllocOrder: 2
29/04/2008 18:19:09.281 Adding [B]BoardName:[/B] [color=Red]PCI One[/color] [B]CardType:[/B] [color=Red]Hauppauge Nova-T USB2[/color] BoardNum: 1 CaptureOID: 3 AllocOrder: 3
The logs show that it was the USB2 tuner that was used for the test.
Code:
29/04/2008 18:19:13.703 Play() - GetFreeBDATuner() returned: 1 [color=Red]Hauppauge Nova-T USB2[/color]
The fact that you've fixed the allocation_order field in the DB means that the plugin picked the lowest priority tuner to use (highest allocation order number). This is expected behaviour as the higher the allocation order value, the less likely the tuner will be allocated a recording by GB-PVR. The good news is that the plugin handled your USB2 tuner without problem.

I've added some code that pauses the radio stream before submitting the new tuning and then restarts the stream. I'm wondering if that would help. I'll be uploading another version to the wiki later.

Cheers,
Brian

Yet more evidence that I am not as clever as I think I am !!

The latest version still hangs when I switch to a channel on a different mux.

Good Luck

I am using Vista. With the latest update from the wiki I get the scaning channels but after a 40 seconds it drops out and asks me if I would like to san for more channels again.

Please keep up the good work. GBPVR really needs DVB-T support.

OK - it was using the USB2 tuner again. Can you try the approach that you mentioned in a previous post. Start three recordings, then cancel the two on the PCI cards then try a test as you have been. If it displays the same behaviour then obviously it's not specific to the USB2 device.

Also, if it does hang on changing MUX with the PCI Novas, let me know which version of the Nova drivers you're using. Also if you have Graphedit, open the Dvbtr.grf graph (in the Graphs sub-folder of the plugin) and let me know which audio decoder it's using (probably clutching at straws with this one).

Cheers,
Brian

Say no more.

The current version won't work with Vista - Microsoft moved the goalposts.

I'm hoping to have a version that works with Vista available soon.

Great work on the plugin; digital radio without impinging on my fair useage allowance, huzzah!

Some teething issues, of note:
I receive DVB-T from the Hannington transmitter (not sure of the relevance of this) and all the BBC channels came up as "unknown". I needed to manually edit the channels.csv, replacing the "unknown" with the file names from the ChannelLogos directory, resulting in:

Code:
700,BBC Radio 1,674166,16384,18496
701,1Xtra BBC,674166,16384,18176
702,BBC Radio 2,674166,16384,18560
703,BBC Radio 3,674166,16384,18624
704,BBC Radio 4,674166,16384,18688
705,BBC R5 Live,674166,16384,17920
706,BBC 5L SportsX,674166,16384,17984
707,BBC 6 Music,674166,16384,18048
708,BBC 7,674166,16384,18112
709,BBC Asian Net,674166,16384,18240
...the rest were fine

Thanks and all the best,

David

The plugin is looking fantastic Brian, nice one.

It installed ok (communityskin3 didn't work with the skin file from your wiki, only when I downloaded the final skinplugin 3.2 from the wiki.)

scan for channels worked perfectly. All logos appear present and correct.

I can playback fine, although I haven;t tested this much atm. it sounded good.

scan for now/ next only appears to do anything if I am already playing a station. it then barfs after a few minutes, back to the desktop.

However, the very first time I did a scan now/next, it worked perfectly.

log attached.

thanks again

Could you post your DvbtrMessageHandler.log file from the (plugin's) Logs folder. Also, your pvrx2.exe.log from the time you did the scan if possible.
