Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Thank you for your help sub. I'm new to forums, and gbpvr, so I hope I have provided the information you requested.

Can you run the filtercheck.exe utility from the GB-PVR directory, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log that gets created?

I attach the log file you requested.

I am not sure whether this is relevant, but the first time I attempted to install gbpvr (latest version) it failed as I was not in administrator mode. I uninstalled using control panel. The program installed normally once I corrected this error.

Thanks for you help.

Your device numbers are wrong.

This device has two DVB-S tuners and two DVB-T tuners. So you need to setup two DVB-T capture sources as device #1 and device #2, and two DVB-S capture sources also as device #1 an and device#2. You've currently got these set as device #3 and #4.

Thanks sub. I did not realise the capture sources needed to be set up in the exact order listed. I have done this and now the DVB-T tuners work fine, but picture is rather poor. The DVB-S are still not detected. Do you ave any sugestions?

I was wondering whether to try a clean install on Vista Premium 32 bit.

Thanks for your help.

It depends what you mean by 'poor'. If its breaking up an pixelated, then its probably a reception problem. If it just doesnt look very good, then its probably a either your video card or the video decoder you're using.

Now that you've set the device numbers as I suggested above, reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Picture Quality Issue

I swapped hard drives and loaded gbpvr onto a clean vista 32 OS (otherwise hardware unchanged). Initally could not get either DVB-T tuners to find channels using ati mux. Loaded powercinema 5 and selected cyberlink mux in gbpvr and then both DVB-T devices found terestial channels OK. The picture quality is good on vista 32 while it is grainy in vista 64 (using the same mux).

DVB-S problems

Having got a good DVB-T picture , and recorded programes sucesfully using DVB-T tuners, I attempted to use DVB-S tuners. Unforunately, I obtained the same error on the vista 32 system as I did on the vista 64 system. Niether could start the BDA device when attemting to map channels to epg. This was followed by an unhandled exception error.

BTW the EPG soure is set to "DVB EPG Broadcast". I also had to turn off user access control (UAC) to get gbpvr to install on vista 32 but not on vista 64 . I have left UAC turned off on vista 32. PowerCinema 5 detects the DVB-S tuners and I have been able to watch satelite channels.

I have attached the vista 32 logs in one zip file. Thanks for you help.

You did same thing as I pointed out above, you need to setup two DVB-T capture sources as device #1 and device #2, and two DVB-S capture sources also as device #1 an and device#2. You've currently got these set as device #3 and #4 - which is incorrect.

EurekaSmile. DVB-S scan worked. Well done sub.

The only strange think is the DVB-S scan on gbPVR did not find BBC satellite channels located using PowerCineama 5. Conversely, the DVB-S on gbPVR listed ITV channels that were missing on PowerCinema:confused:. is this because PowerCinema groups Astra 2A, 2B, 2D with Eurobird 1; while gbPVR lists them seperately?

Thanks for your help
