Hi,

Do these actually pick up the UK HD freeview channels OK with GBPVR, or is it like DVB-S2, where everyone has their own implementation of the standard?

My poor old Compro E700 has just died after a few years of faithful service- saw the Blackgold and thought it might be worth a punt, even if it is a bit pricy. Either that or a cheapo Pinnacle 3010ix!!!

Cheers

Daniel
Athlon XP 2800 > Asus A7N8X > Win7/64 > NPVR > Pinnacle DVB-T PCI > NovaHD-S2 for 28.2E > NovaS+ for 13E 19.2E > HD3450AGP: EVR/SAF

Pent Dx2 2.8GHZ > Intel D945GNT > Win7/64 > NPVR > 2x Nova HD-S2+ for 28E / 13E / 19E > Nova S+ for 1W 5W > BGT3620 > HD3450 PCIe: EVR/SAF

Metronic analogue for 19.2E

It depends how they have implemented their drivers. The Pinnacle DVB-T2 device just looks like a DVB-T to GBPVR/NPVR, and just works with no special logic. Hopefully Blackgold have done things the same way.

I have the new Blackgold 3620 and confirm it works great with N-PVR including UK HD channels.

Thanks for that. Great news.

In the end I got a second hand Pinnacle PIC-E dual tuner off eBay (£17!!!) becasue my recording schedule is in tatters. However, I probably get one for my birthday now i know they work.

great news - I ordered mine this week!
I think I have about 1mm gap between the pci-e slot and my graphics card cooler so I hope it fits ok....

Spoke too soon see this http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...=blackgold. However I haven't attempted the possible fix yet.

Same here - I slid a thin sheet of ptfe between them to prevent shorts (but who knows what it is doing to cooling!).

Divx aac decoder is the only one that works at all with the newest version of npvr, but it can't handle changes to the audio that sometimes happen in uk freeview HD ie 5.1 to 2.0 and playback speeds up.

I haven't found any version of arcsoft decoders that work with any version of npvr.

libfaad2wrapper works with the npvr 1.5.33 but has problems with 5.1 audio-fluctuating volume and doesn't work with the latest version.

Mainconcept aac decoder works fine with npvr 1.5.33 but not with the latest version. It's part of MainConcept Reference 2.1 a demo version available here http://www.mainconcept.com/products/apps...rence.html

If you have problems with that link googling "MainConcept Reference 2.1.0.3389" might be helpful WinkWink
