Previously:
Vista x64, GB-PVR v1.2.9. GB-PVR working fine (got EPG fine, recorded fine, etc.).
Now:
Format/reinstall (same OS), reinstall GB-PVR (same version), copy over some essentials (config.xml, gbpvr.db3). GB-PVR runs well for a couple of weeks, (recording single shows/recurring shows get picked up OK) until I notice the EPG data had run out. I figured out that it must have still had the data from the old file (in gbpvr.db3) This was over a week ago and because I was moving house at the weekend I just had to leave it. Now I'm settled in the new house and the same thing with no EPG. After much fannying on, I eventually uninstalled and reinstalled fresh. This means fresh config files as well. Before this fresh reinstall of GB-PVR (in the other house), I'd tried scanning for channels but it always came back saying none found.
In my other house I'd always had a strong signal, the aerial was only a few months old and designed for Freeview but GB-PVR had reported no channels found. During scanning I would see programmes appear as it scanned through but it wouldn't list any so there were none to save. In this new house I scan and I still see pictures as it runs through the frequencies but again - nothing listed and 'no channels found'. Different aerial and same result.
I've tried disabling AV (Kaspersky) and also adding it to the trusted apps so it doesn't monitor opened files, etc. but it didn't help. I'd already turned off Vista's UAC a long time ago and still no luck. Before I'd reinstalled GB-PVR and using the old config files, I could switch to different channels and see a perfect picture, so it works - I just can't tune.
After I saw no EPG data originally, I thought it was only that problem I had so I set up XMLTV and that worked fine except it refused to get a few important channels. With DVB EPG everything worked perfectly which leads me to the situation I'm in now. I've tried the Cyberlink mux and DVR-MS. My TV card drivers are the latest from Compro.
Aaaaargh!
So what now?
