Hi, Got some questions again.

1. I just want to know if there is a way to force gb-pvr to change display resolution(to 1024x768) when launch and change back to its original when shutdown(like bsplayer)?

2. It seems like when I run gb-pvr(set to full screen mode), It would go full screen mode but I could still see the windows task bar. How can I set the focus to gb-pvr when the program is launch? Its just annoying that I always have to click the gb-pvr window or in the taskbar to set the focus.

Thanks

when you say you set it to "fullscreen" do you mean the window is maximised or have you unchecked the button in the config for "show in window mode" (or run in windows mode, or something along those lines). since if its in fullscreen mode, nothing except the contents of the gbpvr window should be displayed.

Not within the program that I know of, but there are external solutions. If you have an Nvidia graphics card, the nview application allows this. I've never owned an ATI card, but they probably have some sort of driver app also. I use a program called Ultramon, you can have it change any display connected to your graphics card to change to whatever resolution you want for any program, set any display to primary, and when you exit, it puts it all back to normal.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] (tipstir @ Mar. 10 2005,08:52)]The Geforce cards turn off all Nview stuff and re-move anything that runs in the systemtray. You might want to try the overclocking tweak once active there are some test features that come on were you can leave and save the screen funtions to a new default. ATI doesn't have the overclock but you can change your desktop to what you want and save it. Geforce you can do the same but it's better to turn on the hidden features, look for the word Coolbits in google for geforce NV cards, all it is a registry hack.
I don't have the coolbits hack enabled and have access to nview along with many other features. In fact, nview is a major driver component by nvidia and isn't hidden by default, neither is the system tray applet. Here are both in my display properties:

I don't have the nvidia settings in the taskbar, but it was on by default. I checked my registry where the coolbits would be to see if Nvidia enabled them with my driver set, and they are not there. Granted, the coolbits would give me overclocking ability, but for me an extra 3fps in Doom3 isn't worth potentially frying a $400 videocard.

Thanks for the replies. But the problem is, I have a crappy intel integrated video card. It has only 4mb memory size. I have a crappy computer as well. I have a PIII 750, 256mb ram. I can't really upgrade anymore and I can't afford a new system(for now)

For some reasons, all my video files won't play normally in a 1280x1024 resolution, therefore I have to change resolution each time I want to play my video files(to something lower like 1152x864 or lower). That is why I have mentioned BSPlayer, because it has the capability of changing the screen resolution whenever the program is launch(and change back to its original when the program is shutdown) Same problem goes for GB-PVR, I have to change the resolution each time I launch it or else livetv won't work properly. I hope you guys can help me on this one.

for the second question,
[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]2. It seems like when I run gb-pvr(set to full screen mode), It would go full screen mode but I could still see the windows task bar. I have unchecked the window option in the config file("show in windowed mode&quotWink But the taskbar is still visible whenever it is launch. So, I have to annoyingly click on it in the taskbar or the GB-PVR window to make it active.

I hope you can help me. Thanks

Do yourself a favour. Buy a new video card.

PvrCrazy,

I'd still recommend Ultramon, you can download a trial version at their website and see if it works for you.

Ultramon

After it is installed, it will add new tabs to your shortcut's properties. GB-PVR's shortcuts are not normal, you will want to make an actual shortcut to the .exe in the gbpvr directory, and then right-click the shortcut, click properties and goto the Ultramon Display tab.

You can change GB-PVR to startup with a custom resolution, color depth, refresh rate, and restore your original settings when you exit. As far as your taskbar problem, have you tried removing its always-on-top focus? Right-click your taskbar, choose properties, and uncheck the "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows" box.
