Yeah, I tried Close Encounters and it worked for me. I have to admit, your issue has me stumped but I'm sure we will eventually find the problem and/or solution. What version of WMP are you running?

Also, I want to give a special thanks to InVermont. He supplied me with some code solved an issue where I was having some trouble. It will improve the plugin dramatically.

You mentioned that you were able to play netfilx through IE, but was that viewable on the TV you are playing to? If not, then you don't have the TV as your primary display.

If watch it now moives are playing on IE correctly (and viewed on the TV), then you should have the correct Media player installed.
My guess if the above is true, your GBPVR config is set to FSE (full screen exclusive). Try setting it to VRM9 custom. Otherwise my only other guess would be a resolution or refresh issue (ie. try different settings).

Yeah, I'm running WMP 11.

I did not let netflix load the movie in IE. I was able to get the movie to play on my other computer by opening the file via network, and it played fine in WMP11 on my other computer. I would try to let netflix load in IE, but i've been having connection issues and it hasn't been too happy about streaming the video. I'll go and try that though.

I'll check my gbpvr config and see what i've got setup...

OK, I tried to play the movie bullitt one more time, it showed the first 1 second, then was audio only... How can that be?

So I checked with GBPVr config. I am indeed running VMR9 Fullscreen. I switched it to custom, and still black screen with plenty of audio. I went to netflix's website, and tried to watch: 'Ron White: they call me tater salad' and even through their website it was black screen, audio only.

So I'm guessing the problem is not with GBPVR, nor your magnificant plugin, but simply something wrong with my computer. I am going to try to call netflix tomorrow, and see if they know whats up...

REVISION:

I was researching netflix movie viewer problems on verious websites, and came across someone mentioning update the video card drivers. I thought oh my could it be so simple. so I goto ATI's website, lookup drivers for radeon 9550, sure enough there is an update from april 13 2008. sweet. I update my driver, a quick restart, open the file into WMP it's playing normally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SWEET, so now it should be fine in GBPVR....

WRONG... Black screen, but i get audio, same old story. Nor would it play in WMP after this. Not even if I restart.
I may just figure this out eventually, LOL I feel like i'm getting close though....

UPDATE:

I was up all night, found another post where someone had to turn off DirectDraw in the DirectX Diagnosis control panel (dxdiag) to make netflix play. So I tried this, and it forced me to disable Direct3D too. The video now plays in WMP normally. Well then GBPVR will not run, I can only assume it's because it requires Direct Draw. I tried updating my DirectX to the latest 9.0c March release, but this did no good.

My other computer is also using DirectX 9.0c, not the March 08 release, but the same one I had before I updated. I was wondering if maybe a few steps back on my DIrectX would help... Anyways, I'm running out of ideas so if this rings a bell for anyone, I appreciate the help.

nVidia GeForce 8600GT
1 PCH @ 1080p componenent (was NTSC via composite)
1 PCH @ 1080p HDMI (was component)

Unfortunately, the DRM would prevent the movies from playing on the PCH. All other functions may work though. I don't have a PCH so I couldn't tell you for sure on that.

This plugin should not require much from your video card. As long as PVRx2 will run in non FSE mode, you should be fine.

Well, I don't know anything about the feasibility of this, but is it possible to use OpenGL instead of DirectX?

I don't set the renderer. I simply request the Windows Media Player API to play the file. The DRM limits what I can do. If the files weren't DRM'd, I could just have GBPVR play them natively.
