GB-PVR is a great piece of software, but I'm a bit of a noob to this. The analog tuner works perfectly, and I've managed to get a lot of QAM channels set up as well, but a lot of them aren't showing up in the list of channels found when I do a scan. For example, I'm pretty sure TBS is on 85.2, and I have even seen it playing in the preview window above the "Rescan" button during a scan, but it simply is not in the list. I have seen Lifetime on the preview too, it's never listed either.

I've attached my config.exe logs... I have set it to ignore PMT CRC errors during scan, and I've even tried increasing the value BDAPsiScanWaitSecond and setting BDAIgnoreHiddenChannels to false, but it either still doesn't find it or crashes. I don't know what to try next. Sad Can anybody help?

If it matters, I'm using a Hauppauge HVR-1800 on a Athlon X2 machine running XP x64.

Do you get these channels when you use the Hauppauge WinTV application?

When I tried installing WinTV2k, it kept giving me DLL missing errors.

Have you tried WinTV 6? Thats the current version. http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/su...r1800.html

I tried that too. It does the same thing, and I think it's because Hauppauge's own HcwDriverInstall.exe doesn't recognize the hardware, so it doesn't install anything. It says HCWUTL32.DLL is missing, but the dll is right there in the folder. It's really frustrating. LOL

EDIT: Alright, I figured out I needed to install more of its software first... I've got it scanning for channels now.

So... No. WinTV doesn't find those missing QAM channels either. I don't understand though why I'd be able to actually see the first channel in that block there in the preview window while it's scanning and it won't display it in the list. Is there a way to set the channels manually? I have no idea where I'd find out how to do that.

It can return encrypted channels that will not be viewable. Its probably a channel your broadcaster is encrypting.

So TBS, TNT, FX, and Lifetime are encrypted, but Cartoon Network, Cinemax (!!), Sci-fi channel, and Comedy Central aren't? I am very grateful for your help, but that makes no sense! :? I am getting lots of channels listed that only show a black screen, so I thought those were the encrypted channels.

Were you actually viewing the video on those "missing" channels?

Ah, sorry, I didnt read your post correctly. I thought you meant you could see its name in the channels returned (not that you could actually see the channel).

If its not in the list of channels on the left of your screen, then it most likely means that Schedules Direct doesnt have the correct line up info for your cable network. No idea if thats what you mean by "it won't display it in the list" though.
