Hi
Short question is that I have bought and installed the nVidia PureVideo Codec for the PVR, and since that, PVRx2 plays my DVDs OK, except that there is no audio. The Video is good. CPU utilization peaks at around 55%. Selecting different options in the config for the DVD panel (selecting different audio codecs) does not seem to make any difference. DVD playback works fine with Windows Media player, Audio is fine there!
Help me! Details are given below as to how I arrived here...
Regards,
Gani
State 1:
I Originally had the K-Lite Codec Pack installed in my PVR setup, and used the Cyberlink Codecs for both LiveTV and DVD playback. Never tried the "MPEG Video Player" codec that is available default on Windows.
Tried different combinations of the same with not much difference.
State 2
Removed all K-Lite Codec pack related stuff. Configured Live-TV with "MPEG Video Player", and "MPEG Audio Player". DVD the same.
State 3
Bought the nvidia PureVideo decoder codec. (Just picked that since my card was nvidia). Installed the same.
My PVR setup is as follows:
Via iDot PC3500G Motherboard
2GB RAM - 160GB Fujitsu laptop HD
Windows XP Home SP2
WinTV PVR-150 capture card (External tuner, Channel 21)
nVidia PCI Express GeForce 7300 Video Card.
TV Connection: Using DVI to HDMI cable
TV: Sony 32 inch LCD

I Originally had the K-Lite Codec Pack installed in my PVR setup, and used the Cyberlink Codecs for both LiveTV and DVD playback. Never tried the "MPEG Video Player" codec that is available default on Windows.
- The Live TV playback was good, and used around 50% CPU.
- The DVD Playback was horrible, used 100% CPU all the time, Jittery etc., Audio worked, albeit jittery.
- DVD Playback was same using Windows Media Player also.
Tried different combinations of the same with not much difference.
State 2
Removed all K-Lite Codec pack related stuff. Configured Live-TV with "MPEG Video Player", and "MPEG Audio Player". DVD the same.
- Live TV worked fine. CPU utilization was surprisingly lower (around 33% most times)
- DVD Did not work, Selecting DVD would not do anything.
- DVD Did not work using Windows Media Player either. Got a message about needing a decoder codec
State 3
Bought the nvidia PureVideo decoder codec. (Just picked that since my card was nvidia). Installed the same.
- Live TV worked fine, even clearer though that is hard to tell. CPU utilization was surprisingly higher than the previous option (around 50% most times)
- DVD using PVRX2 / GBPVR has no Audio. At all.
- DVD works wonderfully fine with Windows Media player, audio included.
