I am trying to get the Hauppauge remote to work with GBPVR via Girder. I am using 0.13 of GBPVR and 3.3.0 of Girder. Here is the problem: when I have the recording service going, Girder hangs when it tries to initialize the USB UIRT. Inversely, if I have Girder running and the recording service (or live tv) tries to change the channel via the USB UIRT, those hang.

What can I do? I'd hate to have to get GBPVR to transmit the channels via Girder, but that's lookin like the only way I can do this. If I did have to go that route, how would I send channel changes from GBPVR to Girder?

Thanks,
Paul

I suspect that your installation of Girder contains the old version of the usb-uirt API dll. This old version cant cooperatively share the usb-uirt between two applications. You might want check the dates on the usbuirt.dll (?) in the GB-PVR directory and the girder directory. You may just want to copy the GB-PVR one into the Girder directory, otherwise you can download it from usbuirt.com

If you wanted to get GB-PVR to send channel changes to Girder you need to select the Girder Channel Changer plugin, and download MSMs .gml file from the downloads page:

Ok, I am confused [Image: smile.gif]

GBPVR uses UUIRTDRV.DLL and Girder uses USBUIRT.DLL.  I have the latest Girder plugin (USBUIRT.DLL) and the latest USBUIRT drivers installed.

Where do I go from here?  Is UUIRTDRV.DLL the same as USBUIRT.DLL?

Thanks,
Paul

There is a post by Jon on the SageTV forums that says:

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]FYI - the latest Girder plugin at the USB-UIRT website does not allow sharing. The 'sharing' Girder plugin is being given out via email request at support@usbuirt.com for the time being...

Well, I talked to Jon and he had some concerns. There should only be one uuirtdrv.dll that is used in one system. If you use two .dll's (like the one that you install), the sharing will not work. I am guessing the paths to the driver .dll in your code only point to your install folder, as wehn I rename the file to uuirtdrv.sav in the GBPVR folder, it does not revert to using the one in the system32 folder. Let me know if there is anything I can do to get GBPVR to use .dll in the system32 folder.

Thanks,
Paul
