I downloaded from the wiki and it opened up for me. My skins seem to be up to date since they are newer dates. I'll see if those logs do me any favors.

FYI searchwiz2 just returns straight to the menu, whereas burndvdx2 sits there forever and in the end I have to taskmanager and kill pvrx2 - it is hogging one of the two cores.
Hey guys, sorry I didn't see this thread sooner.

I think I know what the problem is here. A version of MovieWiz and/or the WizDLL install introduced a version of WizUiHelper where a method signature changed. It used to return void, now returns boolean.

Code:
[SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff]public [/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff]void[/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2] setSelectedItemWithText([/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff]string[/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2] text)[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2]is now[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff]public [/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff]bool[/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2] setSelectedItemWithText([/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff]string[/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2] text)[/SIZE]
[/SIZE]
Any plugins compiled with the prior version of that method will fail now.

Unfortunately, there is no easy fix as there is a mix of plugins out there, some compiled with the old signature, others with the new.

The fix is for the plugin developer to compile and release a new version compiled with WizUiHelper.DLL v1.0.16.0 (or greater)

Sorry for the confusion.

Soundman, do you have the latest version of burndvdx2 and the latest version of the community skin and skinplugin?

Ok, I'll do a more thorough investigation to see if I am not current.

I did notice this in his logs..
Code:
2008-05-29 21:40:23.031    VERBOSE    [1]    Skin file not found: C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\skin\BurnDVDX2\\skinPAl.xml
2008-05-29 21:40:23.031    VERBOSE    [1]    ...about to check default skin
2008-05-29 21:40:23.031    VERBOSE    [1]    Initializing skin helper for: C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\skin\Community3\BurnDVDX2\\skinPAl.xml

So the plugin checks for items in the \skin\ folder and not just the \skin2\ folder? I wonder if those folders are not present?

Yes it uses both skin folders. The trouble was I wanted to always create 4:3 or 16:9 images for the DVD and without using the old skins it would scale to the configured shape and not to what I wanted to create. The old skins worked better for me for this.
I thought you distributed the skin files too, but if not I think I copy them in if they are missing.

Oh crap I probably compiled the plugin when I tested it. Why does moviewiz fail though?

Actually, MovieWiz works, it was compiled with the new version, SearchWiz fails, it was compiled with the old version.

I swear I looked back at the posts to check if it was movie or searchwiz. Old eyes are playing tricks on me again..
Thanks for the help - I'll get a new version out.

I do distribute both folders and files, I just didn't know if somehow during the process for the user, his \skin\ folder was missing (whereas I have it and I didn't get an error). Having looked at the logs again, I see it appears to have found what it was looking for in the \skin\community3 folder.
