Cannot Change Channels (HIP With MCE Kit)

I cannot change channels. I assume this is due to not having HIP configured correctly with my MCE IR beanbag and remote. I use a Dish Network 311 STB. My TV card is a Hauppauge 1800.

I went through the HIP setup and I did update the driver for the MCE kit. I had it learn my Dish Network remote and I tested the MCE remote. I press the green button and GB-PVR does open. I can scroll up and down. But I cannot change channels. When I try, the channel goes up or down and shows the correct listing in the EPG but the channel stays on the current one I am viewing.

Can anyone help?

have you plugged the little sender units into the mce blaster and stuck it over the reciever of the stb?

I think thats what is needed, but as I don't have a stb I could be talking out of my proverbial

Yes the sensor is correctly installed and positioned. Everything works fine with XP Media Center, but I like GB-PVR better.

I wonder if there is an issue changing channels with Hauppauge TV tuner cards?

no you just need to either use HIP send plugin program for hip (download it from hip site doesnt come with hip)
or the built in channel changer(not sure how good this is these days)

damnit i knew about hip send as well and completely forgot, I wonder if i go back now and edit my post if anyone will notice ... nevermind

Might you have a link to that? I go to the downloads page at http://www.byremote.com.au/ and I cannot seem to find anything called HIP Send. I see a few Send & Receive programs and I did get "HIP MCE Send and Receive Interface (Freeware)" but it didn't make any difference.

EDIT 1: I found "HipSend Utility" on the HIP EXTRA webpage. One is for DOS and one is for Windows. I would think the Windows one would be the correct one to use as the DOS one is worded in a way that makes me think I have to type commands to change channels. Is that correct?

EDIT 2: I tried the Windows version and it appears to also require the typing of commands. I am not sure how this will solve my original problem of not being able to change channels.

follow the steps on the wiki

btw you dont need those drivers you loaded the mce remote works fine with the ehome(standard microsoft) drivers loaded
then the only extra buttons you need are the hipsend ones and start

OK I downloaded and saved the DOS version "HipSend" to C:\Program Files\HIP and I edited the .exe Changer Plugin SETTINGS to point to C:\Program Files\HIP\HipSend.exe and I added {channel} as instructed in the WIKI. I restarted GB-PVR and I still cannot change channels.

need to add 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 to the alternate input with dos/hipsend then match them up with send ir command to the buttons learnt from your set top box

to me it sounds like you havent followed the correct part of the wiki instructions

I find it easy to open a command prompt and type hipsend 01 for example to change channel to 01 this means I can break down my trouble shooting to smaller chunks then when that is working reliably I then add GBPVR into the mix.
