As a newbie to all this I'm trying to get something setup to record the Tour De France starting this weekend.

I've installed a fresh copy of XP with SP3, installed GBPVR and have connected my Sky Decoder to the PC via a Haupauge PVR150MCE. The picture is fantastic, the functionality of GBPVR is all good but after reading the HIP guide, I damned if I can get the MCE v2 Remote I have to change the channels on the Sky decoder.

Does anyone have a similar setup and been able to get this combination working?

I learn the Sky remote within HIP but when I try to test it I can see the Blaster light flicker where it's taped to the front of the decoder but nothing happens.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I've played around with it stuck in many positions.

Does your response indicate that you have this working without any problems?

Cheers, Tim

i dont actually have sky but have tested it with freeview box
you could try and learn a code from your tv and see if that works then it you may be able to rule out the sender
it does work with sky
i think my sky the codes cant be learnt (not 100% sure)

others have said the server suite is easier to use

Great advice. IR Server Suite is a lot easier to get going.

One part of this equation that failed me was my MCE IR Blaster. It seemed to be working very intermittently so I grabbed an IR LED from Dick Smith and wired it up to a 3.5mm mono plug.

This was a very cheap solution to my problem and it all works sweet now.

Cheers, Tim
