Hello,

I have many reoccurring recordings which means of course I had quite a few conflicts. When i added my 2nd tuner, my conflicts remained exactly the same even though recording for most of them was possible. To solve this I wrote down my recordings, deleted them, and added them back. The conflicts went away.

I know this is not something people do all the time (add and remove tuners), but thought I would mention it.

I'm about to add a 3rd tuner and I have a few conflicts listed where I have 3 shows that want to record. Since I'm going to encounter this again, I'd like to proactively help resolve this. I'll capture logs before and after. Anything else suggested?

I remember having similar results when I removed a capture source for a while and then added it back. I think (someone will correct me if I'm wrong) when the EPG is updated and an instance of a recurring recording is found (possibly a week or 2 in the future) it is assigned a recording source at that time.

From what I remember an easier workaround (easier than recreating all recurring recordings) is to empty the EPG and then reload it after adding the new capture source.

You may need to run "pvrx2.exe -deletependingrecurring" at the command prompt after emptying the EPG if the TV Guide still shows the recurring recordings.

Cheers
Tony

The conflicts should go away when the next EPG update occurs (try manually updating & see if this resolves the issue).

philly, manually updating did not resolve.

Nomad101, I wanted to empty my EPG in config, but the warning message stating something like "you will loose all your scheduled recording" etc stopped me from doing it. If I empty my EPG and re-populate, it will re-schedule all my recordings yes? Won't loose any recurring/upcoming records?

thanks for the command line.

thanks for the command line.

I've had wierd experiences when I empty the EPG & then add a tuner - I always end up with each station listed twice in the guide for some reason.

Last time I added a tuner, I did this (in my case the hd-pvr):

1) In the config app, go to plugins tab & click "Export Recordings" - it will create "RecordingsDump.xml" (I believe it goes in the gbpvr directory).

2) click cancel to close the config window.

3) stop the GBPVR recording service

4) rename gbpvr.db3 to something like gbpvr.db3.bak

5) copy empty.db3 (in the gbpvr directory) to gbpvr.db3

6) start config app & go to the capture tab (list will be empty)

7) add all your devices back in (new & old)

8) click ok on the config app

9) restart the config app

10) go to the plugins tab & click "Import Recordings" - choose the RecordingsDump.xml file created from step 1

11) click OK

12) manually update the EPG

You should be good to go. Note that depending on how many channels you have in your listings, how many days you choose to download & how many recurring recordings you have, the guide update could take several minutes since it has to download the listings & comb through the entire list searching for all matches to your recurring list.

I think that would depend on whether the "full EPG reload" option is being used. If not it just adds new info so may not reschedule recordings.

As far as I'm aware it'll automatically reschedule recurring recordings but one-off (single) recordings that you manually created may be lost.

I think that setting only affects scheduled updates, not manual updates (clicking Update EPG) so you would have to leave it until a scheduled update occured to see if it solved the problem.

I'm expecting delivery of a Nova-T 500 tomorrow so will try and create a few conflicts before installing it, then do the Empty EPG and update and let you know if it all works as I remember it.

Cheers
Tony

Sorry, meant to clarify that I was talking about "scheduled" one-off recordings (in the future) and not recording that have already happened. I read it afterwards and the way I wrote it made it sound like you might lose existing recordings! That's obviously not the case. Smile
