accessing database

Hi I have a script that does a few things to the database and is run from updateEPG and postUpdateEPG. I think the script works but....

Is there any issue (and what is the way round it) for a script called in this way accessing the database?
Is PVRX2 prevented from accessing the databaise when these batch files are running?


I also noticed this on the latest release:
added a 'watched' indicator in the recordings screen
Thanks sub that is exactly what I'm looking for, I assume its in the database is it a flag on the playback position? Has the database structure changed.

If the duration of any updates are short then it should be fine. As aways though, directly updating the database can be risky if you do it wrong, or if you leave locks in the database. Simply reading the database is less of a problem.

Yes, the playback position table has changed slightly.

When I finally get to writing my plugin I will use the correct methods, this is a kind of err hack I'm doing. Basically tidy up the db links to moved files, unreferenced recordings to programs that have changed (fixes the problem I have with overlapping recordings from the same channel) and some archiving to another disk based on playback position - hence my interest in the watched indicator.

When does the watched indicator get set? I am guessing it is a sticky flag that is set when the program end is reached. I assume playback position is still reset at that point.

I will upgrade and play.

This is a known problem. It'll currently delete the entry if you play until the end. I intended to leave it there, and make the determination of whether to show the resume prompt based on the playback current position vs duration.
