Please help with Winfast PxPVR2200

Hi.

I'm trying to get GBPVR to detect and use my tv tuner card (Leadtek Winfast PxPVR2200). I've tried to use graphedit and then edit the direct.ini file with no luck.

I'm trying to grab input from my set-top box using the s-video port. The error i'm getting is the following error in the pvrx2.exe.log when i click on the live tv menu option:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at FindEncoderFilter......

I'm not sure if it'll help, but you could try setting <AutoDetectEncoderMethod> to either '0' or '1' in config.xml.

Thanks for the reply. I tried setting that to 0 and 1 and then restarting the recording service each time. Unfortunately didn't help - the screen just goes blank for a second then back to the menu when i click on the live-tv menu.. I can post the logs if that will help you.

Sorry, I'm not really sure what to suggest for this particular problem. It looks like something funny with the encoder filter for this card.

I am also having problem with this card. GBPVR does not detect it. Is there anybody who got it working? If so, could you please post the changes that needs to be done to get this card working?

I am new to gbpvr and am also having trouble setting up my winfast pxpvr2200. It works fine with the leadtek software and with mediaportal but so far not with gbpvr.

Anyone out there running this card successfully with gbpvr?

OK, well after playing around with GBPRV for a while, I was finally able to get this card (PxPVR2200) to work.

I will retrace my steps for anyone who is interested to hopefully help out any other noobs like me with this card

First I added to the direct.ini file ...

then I added card to capture source (analog recording plugin)

btw, I used mc2xml.exe for my xmltv plugin

I then checked 'use live preview mode if possible' under the misc tab
and I set Deinterlacing to 'none'

That was it. Hopefully this will be a time saver for the next PxPVR2200 user.

I have problems with this card, no live-tv in PXRX2, just black screen.
In TuningAssistant.exe channels are ok, it say something about write down the frequency and put them WHERE? I do not get it.
I use config from this thread and also analog guide, i have xml from xmltv.exe... no go.
I set my card, choose analog, choose my country, etc.
