Hello,
I have been using GB-PVR for a while now with the Popcorn hour client, and it's been working great. [Granted, the install process is a bit hairy, but once you get past that, it seems to work just fine]
I recently tried out using GB-PVR with client-server mode, to see liveTV on one of my home machines as a client [Using streaming mode], and it seems to work fine. I did however notice two things:
a) It takes almost six seconds after you click on LiveTV in client mode before I can actually see the TV being displayed.
b) Channel changing is also extremely slow, taking six-seven seconds before I can view anything.
I have pretty good machines - a dual core Intel as the server as well a similar machine for the client, both with 2 gb ram on them. Then network is also a gigabit network, so bandwidth shouldn't be an issue.
Once the TV starts working, it seems to be smooth, but the channel changing / startup delay kind of makes this very annoying to use.
Any help in that matter would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jalpesh.
PS: This is a great product sub, keep up the good work; with a few minor tweaks, it'll completely blow away the Windows Media Center app from the windows world.
