If I add a recurring recording, it seems to add at the top of the priority list. That messes up the carefully ordered priorities of important shows near the top. I'd rather it was inserted at the bottom, then I could bump it up if it was more important. Since I don't know how to "add at the bottom" of priorities, I normally go into the list of recurring and move it.

I read somewhere that the FF key moves priorities up, and that works great, but the rewind key doesn't seem to move it down. The combo of add at the top plus only a "move up" key means I have to push all the other programs up instead of moving the one I want down.

I'm sure I've got something broken or I'm missing something about the correct key to decrease priority or perhaps a config setting for "add new recurring at the bottom," but searching hasn't turned it up. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

I might as well answer my own question, for the record.

I needed to use CTRL-D to decrease priority. I was using CTRL-R. For some reason I had CTRL-F mapped to fast forward and CTRL-R mapped to rewind. (F=Forward R=Rewind, makes sense, but it's wrong and I have no idea where it came from) A series of things confused me. The Wiki says

Quote:Reoccurring
The list of reoccurring programs that will record. Recurring recordings will be assigned a priority based on the order of your list with the highest priority going to the program listed at the top. You can change this priority by using the up\down keys to highlight the program that you want to give more or less priority to and then use the skip\replay buttons to move the program up or down the list.

It should really say "use the fast forward/rewind buttons to move the program up or down the list." Of course, that's no excuse as I had figured out that FF was the command to increase priority. Apparently, I had never used rewind from the remote, so didn't notice the remote mapping was broken. I tried issuing rewind by keyboard, but stupidly looked at my incorrect mapping file instead of the wiki and was hitting CTRL-R. I also tried skip forward/backward, but that didn't work either.

I could have solved this faster by looking in the logs which told me that the key wasn't being recognized. I also found some help in the files in the keymappings directory.

The reason for this is Ctrl-G=Green, Ctrl-Y=Yellow, Ctrl-B=Blue and... Ctrl-R=Red.
