I had to manually insert the usbbiosx in the registry. Microsoft has a note on it that it is not there by default because it can cause other problems.

As for not having S3...you might still be able to go into S4 (hibernate)...I have been successful in waking from S3 and S4 using the usbbiosx. My previous mobo didnt' have S3 but it had S4 and wake from usb and wake on lan worked. You to have to enable hibernate in the power control panel.

On the forums somewhere and maybe the wiki, there is gbpvr wake which i believe reinitialises the video card, this has helped with some peoples black screen issues on resume, it is basically a series of files called by a batch file that sits in your start up folder.

When being automatically waked up for recording with the TV switched off and then switching on the TV the TV screen often stay's black.

Have a look here for a .exe or here for an autoit script that will wake the display.

When using the RF keyboard I can get a mouse prompt but still a black screen.

as Captcol & dark_half posted, it's a known problem with windows and works like a charm under XP with GBPVR.exe

more details summed up here: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FAQ/B...aticWakeup

if you can confirm it also helps with PVRX2.exe, please post it, i'll add that to the wiki. there were some other users having similar problems but none confirmed it works with PVRX2 till now...

if anybody else has some similar problems under PVRX2 & the wiki entry did not help, please say so, i'll add an entry to the wiki that there are still some other issues open in that direction

you should invest some money on an good imager ;-)
get your server to run as desired, make an image & you're back up and running with that image within 15 minutes (included reboots & all) in case of trouble Big Grin

I used MCE SBT and I still have pvrx2 not starting up sometimes after sleep. I have to hit my custom button on my remote to restart gbpvr. When I look at the logs, it has some kind of error after restart that makes gbpvr shut off and dump me back into the desktop. This started when I upgrade to .13 pvrx2.

I can't get any of them out of standby after they have been in that state for an extended period. Two are on a USB KVM switch and the KVM has a wireless mouse/kb. The GBPVR also has a wireless mouse/kb. What was the proposed resolution for 2 HDDs?

Dvasco, see this MS knowledgebase article:

Good luck.

I have just started to seriously get standby working on my MVP server & found while I had S3 selected in the bios when I installed XP the option wasn't available for selecting from control panel. After I installed 'MCE Standby Tool' it became available in control panel Smile

My question is do I need to set standby inside Xp with MCE Standby Tool running or does it handle all the standby features?

When using MCE -- I used the MCE standby tool. Its great for ensuring all the registry hacks are done to ensure suspend/resume works fine [S3] on XP. Since migrating to GB-PVR I have not used it -- I use the power settings in XP to suspend the machine after 30 minutes idle. Always resumes for EPG, always resumes for recordings. I use the MCE controller, and it always resumes when I push the powerbutton on the controller.

The only issue I have had is with XP having a "funny five minutes" after 4 or 5 days which is fixed by a reboot -- I am looking at the best way to fix that, and may yet go back to using "MCE standby tool".
