Hello,

We have a rule in our house that when we create a recurring recording, we set the number of Recordings to keep. We know, otherwise, the disk space will run out! Smile

I've noticed as i scan through the "Ready" recordings, that some recording names have recorded far beyond what we would have specified. When reviewing the Recurring recordings and picking "update", the number to keep is "All Recordings", when we know we set some kind of limit for these.

Are there any known issues with this feature?

No, not that I'm aware of.

Remember though, the count only relates to season recording - not the show name. So... if you'd create a season recording for the simpsons that kept 6 episodes, then cancelled the season recording at some later stage, there might be 6 episodes on disk. If you later create another season recording for the simpsons that keeps 4 episodes, then you can have up to 10 episodes of the simpsons on the disk. The "4" only relate to that latest season recording

Another case I think is if you set a couple of season recordings for the same show name but at different times.

Martint123, I've definitely done that by mistake in the past. I saw two CSI vegas season recordings, and thought they were both adding to the buildup of shows under one title, but Sub's explanation above says that wouldn't happen.

Is it possible that when you go to update a season recording (or any), it doesn't pull your preference for how many shows to keep, and displays "all" by default? Some of my recordings do have the number i assigned, but others do not and we are careful to always set it. I'm going to test that when i can.

thanks all.

I've just had a look and if editing a recurring or pending show, the "nr to keep" field doesn't seem to be displayed, so it isn't easy to see if it was set initially.

When i go into Recurring and pick a season recording then choose the UPDATE button, I can see "# to keep".
