Ok - I brought 2 Nova-T-500 cards, at first I put one to test in a system in the Garage - all went well - I moved it into the Lounge pc and all is still well. I've put the second card in the Garage pc and I can't find any channels - The first one was retail box with remove, the second was whitebox MCE but that shouldn't make any difference. I've attached my config logs on debug trying a channel scan - It reports on the GUI signal strength and quality of 0 but in the Log it seems to report -26 and -100 - My antenna should be fine, the alignment still looks good but maybe the heavy winds blew it out of alignment between the 2 cards. Any other ideas from the logs????

Cheers,

Matt

Can you post the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log after a scan?

There is no sign of any problems in there, but device never manages to lock onto a signal. Sorry, this anything more than you already knew.

Thanks for looking anyway - I'll go out on a ladder while the weathers nice down here and see if its been knocked out of alignment, I'll have to try it in the lounge pc otherwise.

Ok - I put in an Old Miro (Pinnacle) PCTV and run Dscaler and could get better Prime reception than I do in the house (Old antenna but no splits and only 3 meters of cable down to my workbench). So its not a signal problem..... Anyone got any suggestions - Surely I can't have had two faulty cards in a row, I sent my original second card back due to this problem but now the replacement card is the same.

FWIW: In the UK, people with old aerials had to have them upgrdaded when they moved over to DVB.

Except with my first of 3 Hauppauge Nova-T-500's I found all the channels straight away in my garage system before going live in the lounge?

There is no sign of any errors in your logs, other than lack of signal, but that could be because of a faulty device. Maybe try swapping the devices to see if the one from the garage works in the lounge, see if the one from the lounge works in the garage. Might give some more clues if one is faulty or not.

yeah - I was basically going to try that next - take the lounge pc out and try it on the garage antenna first and then swap some cards etc. Just with the olympics going now the lounge pc is hardly ever not recording! I might have to wait till after the olympics. Its bloody great recording it ALL in High def and being able to skip through to what you want to watch. The swimming slow mo's in High def look absolutely superb - the water looks flawless!
