First of all to test the connection I connected a dse freeview receiver and all channels work fine.

Now I have configured both instances of the dual tuner and have the channels scanned and epg (although the second tuner is missing some channels but that is another issue).

When I go to live TV I get no picture or sound just a black screen. No idea what I am missing. Refer to the attached logs.

Thanks.

Did you install all the Hauppage software that came with the Nova card and check out reception on the PC using their software first?

I believe GB-PVR is dependant on drivers that will get installed along with the Hauppage software.
Initially I had this problem, installed GB-PVR without any of the Hauppage software and no picture / sound, cured by installing it.
Adrian.

You're trying to view a channel with H.264 video, but dont have an H.264 video decoder installed on your machine. Most people are using the Cyberlink H.264 video decoder, so you might want to try to track this down.

I checked that the software that came with the card was installed and it all is. I tried the cyberlink power cinema 5 software and it tuned in channels fine, although they do skip a bit.

I installed the cyberlink h.264 codec and selected this in the config but I am still having no luck, still gettin black screen and no sound..

refer to the updated log files.

thanks.

Here you go.I did notice though in the map digital channels screen I now get the picture shoing if I click on a scanned channel. Not sure if this was showing before the cyberlink codec or not. anyway here are the logs.

In all of the logs you've posted so far in this thread, it looks like the device is failing to lock on to any signal.

I wonder if its worth temporarily deleting your #2 capture source, to force it to use the f#1 tuner, then see if it behaves the same.

I tried that and still no luck. I installed MediaPortal and it tunes and displayes the channels fine although it doesn't play smoothly, it stutters up really badly but I think this is maxing the CPU.

I plugged my dse freeviewHD receiver in again and it plays all channels fine really smoothly without any problems.

Thanks for all your help.
