since jasonf has created a horizontal scrolling textbox, which is perfect for a ticker, it would be cool if the newsreader added a panel, or a seperate panel was made, that displayed news from selected sites, continously scrolling across the main menu screen.

this of course would be extremely useful when the autoupdate plugin is created, or just to display general news about gbpvr, eg plugin updates, new version, etc.

that does sound cool.  Has jason posted is widget framework yet? How does the widget refresh on a MVP? I thought that only refreshed when the remote was hit.

you can find the source code here
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs....=markup

you'll need to download a few files to get it to compile, since there are base classes, interfaces etc. but its all good to go.

I'm currently working on RssReader and I've put all the RSS specific stuff (getting the feed from the internet and decoding the contents) in a seperate class, which could be easily incorporated in another plugin/application/panel. [Image: cool.gif]

Reven,

HenkH has enhanced the programs functionality including the ticker. It will probably be released in a few days.

Indeed, I will release a new version of the plugin as soon as I can upload it to the Wiki site (i.e. as soon as I have a login).

Here's a preview of how it might look (ofcourse the skinners will do a much better layout job):

It's meant to show RSS streams. The gbpvr Wiki provides such a stream at http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki....ion=rss

However, you're free to select another feed, e.g. Stock Quotes (for these you can see a 5 day graph in the plugin).
