Things were working great with 1.1.5. Upgraded to 1.2.13 last night, and noticed that recordings made afterwards were on the wrong channels.

My setup is configured to drive an I/R blaster with hipsend.exe.

I rebooted and played around this morning, and found that PVRX2.exe can successfully change channels either from the TV Guide menu, or via remote. But I attempted a couple of recordings through TV Guide selection, and they both failed.

I checked the RecordingService log but it reported no errors around those recordings. I also checked the Windows events but found nothing obviously wrong. (ZIPped up the logs subdir and attached it here.)

Any advice? TIA.

Hmmmm, I noticed that tip in the 1.2.13 survival guide, but it was listed as "Web server on Vista" (I'm running XP SP2).

It definitely rings true, so I'll give it a shot tonight.

Many thanks for the tip!

Some blaster utilities (including HipSend.exe) pass data between process using the clipboard. This doesnt work if they in a different desktop session, which is what happens unless you go out of your way to tick this 'allow service to interact with desktop' setting.

The "allow service to interact with desktop" tip worked out for me, at least after I remembered to restart the Recording Service. Wink

If not too much trouble, might I suggest that you (sub) add a note to the appropriate post in the 1.2.13 survival thread?

As always, thanks for the help, folks.
