I'm trying to do this but I know very little of cable and the signals in terms of required/compatible cards. I'm trying to find out how to tell what kind of card I need to get for this. I have a high definition digital light projection (I think is what it's called) TV. How do I know what card to buy to make things work? Help please! ~Joanne

What sort of TV service do you have? Cable? Satellite? Antenna?

Cable, what they call Basic, it's like 1-60 without the movie channels. My other problem is how do I know what Tuner type I need. I'd greatly appreciate any help!

I would recommend getting the Hauppauge HVR-1600 or HVR-2250. You may also be able to get your locals in HD with your cable plan.

I have a Samsung HLN5065W TV, I assume that works in terms of compatability with that card? Also other than the card what do I need in terms of hardware. My computer's only about 6 ft from my TV so. Also I've had problems with the .Net framework they wanted you to have beforehand because I have a more recent version (2) I think and it won't uninstall or use the older version instead. Will it still work using 2? Thanks again!
