I don't know what I've done to break this, but recordings of BBC HD are playing back with the narrative audio, which is extremely annoying (I don't even know what possible use it has?)

Is anyone else in the UK who records BBC HD seeing this? Has something changed or have I somehow broken something?

Can anyone confirm that 2329 is the correct PID for the non-narrative audio?

Thanks

Jon.

2329 is correct for non-narrative
I have two entries for bbc HD in my guide and scan.cache:
T:10847,V,22000,56~NID:32~ONID:2~TSID:2050~P:6940~V:2328~VTYPE:H264~A:2330~L:NAR~PMT:258~TXT:2331~PCR:2328~N:>BBC HD
T:10847,V,22000,56~NID:32~ONID:2~TSID:2050~P:6940~V:2328~VTYPE:H264~A:2329~L:eng(AC3)~PMT:258~TXT:2331~PCR:2328~N:>BBC HD (AC3)

BBC HD (AC3) is the non-narrative correct version, and I have never had narrative on any recordings. However I read on the other thread about audio description that GBPVR records both audio streams? If so you could try switching audio with Ctrl-G. (Or the green button on the bottom of Hauppage remote controls)

Correct.

Unfortunately there is no mechanism for switching audio streams on .ts file playback at this stage. Instread you have to rely on the default audio stream selected during playback of the file. It should pick the first stream. The narrative would be the last stream, so it shouldnt be selected.

Any more word on this folks?

I'm getting the narrative track all the time. ProjectX says the mpeg narrative is the only audio present in the TS. I deleted the narrative entry in the tuning cache file file with no luck. Switching playback audioin GBPVR isn't an option for me. I have trid the Cyberlink & TSMux demuxers withe the same results.

Many Thanks!

When you mapped the channel, if you'd mapped to the channel entry with narrative audio, then recordings with the Cyberlink mux will only contain the narrative audio. The TS Mux shouldnt have that problem though. If you can make a 20MB or so .ts file available, I'm happy to check for you.

I thought the only option was automatic .ts mux with h264 with our HD broadcasts

Correct, you can only use the ts mux when H.264 channels.

Jockgbpvr didnt mention BBD HD himself though, and did mention the Cyberlink mux, and symptions were what you'd see with the Cyberlink mux (on an MPEG2 channel), so I thought it was worth mention - incase he posting off-topic about getting only narrative on his MPEG2 DVB recordings or similar.

Thanks all, here is a sample file.
Just to make clear, I'm trying to record the AC3 stream of the BBC HD service.

I think I'm mapped to:
T:10847,V,22000,56~NID:32~ONID:2~TSID:2050~P:6940~V:2328~VTYPE:H264~A:2329~L:eng(AC3)~PMT:258~TXT:2331~PCR:2328~N:>BBC HD (AC3)

And the filename perhaps supports this. I removed the narrative entry in the cache.

However in the attached file, the audio ID is 2330, the mpeg narrative track.

Thanks again!
