Attached is a beta patch that includes the fix for the search bug in this thread as well as aligning the Auto Search logic to use the main search engine class that I wrote a while back....somehow I missed updating the Auto Search logic to call the common class.

I am looking for anyone that has auto-record or auto-reminders set to try this out and let me know how things go. Seems to be fine for me but before I include it in the next build I would like someone else to test it out.

More than likely just one of my senior moments, but...

I installed the patch over the version which is distributed with 1.2.13. The following day, after my overnight EPG update, my Autosearch.exe log looked OK, but when I tried to login to EWA from my LAN, it hung on waiting for web page... also, MVP tried to restart several times, recordingservice maxed out cpu on server.

After restarting the server, I downloaded the latest developement build (76) and copied the two classes in from there. EWA started up fine - I then found a lot of stuff in my pending list which couldn't have been found with my autosearches - these spurious recordings started at the time I had tried to start up EWA, it was like it had tried to record every program from the time it started (allowing for conflicts).

This morning's AutoSearch worked fine and when I started EWA today, everything was fine.

I'll try re-installing the patch again and see what happens tomorrow.

Thanks....keep me posted.....there was no change in which the process of autosearch works....just how it obtains the results to set reminders for or to set to record.

Appologies, but after I backed out the patch Mrs ACTCMS had a few recordings scheduled over the following few days, and I just plain forgot...:o

However, I just reinstalled tonight - my EPG updates at 06:00 so I'l let you know sometime tomorrow.

Last night I reinstalled the patch and rebooted the server for good measure. EPG and EWA-Autosearch seemed to run OK overnight.
Tonight I started EWA on the localhost machine - same problem as before - cpu maxed out, MVP kicked out.
So I closed my browser (IE7), stopped recording service, reinstalled the classes from V76 and restarted recording service. EWA opened up fine, but again I found a bunch of recordings scheduled which shouldn't have been found by my auto-records - unless...

Is it posible that the patch version is ignoring case - I have an auto-record for ER, specified as case sensitive which has been working fine for months.

I've got all the pvrx2 logs up to the problem , but unfortunately, I couldn't find the EWA log and when I restarted EWA, it started a fresh log.

I think that may be it.....it looks like there is a parameter not being passed in for case sensitivity.

Thanks for working with me on this.

Edit: Update attached....please give this a try.

I installed the update yesterday, EPG update and EWA-Autosearch worked fine over night - this morning I opened EWA on the localhost and all was fine - no spurious recordings - problem solved.

Once again, thanks for your great work on this utility (including EWA-Autosearch) - it really is central to my enjoyment of GBPVR.

Since I'm here though, if you ever find the time to 'tidy up' EWA-Autosearch, it would be great if it could 'tell' EWA that today's auto-search/record had already been done, so that the first time EWA was started, it didn't bother doing the search again (I have quite a few saved searches and it can take a bit of time to run).

Hmmm....EWA does flag the search to only run one time per day......are you also running the auto-search outside of EWA via the batch utility I though together?

Sorry, I re-read my post - not very clear..

I do have your batch utility scheduled to run every day at 09:00 am - it runs fine and picks up new shows, so there is no need for EWA to run auto-record.

I was suggesting it would be good if the batch utility could set the daily flag, so that EWA would then not bother running the auto-record again.
