You cant remove channels unless you remove and recreate your capture sources, but this will remove recordings which were associated with the capture source.
You can disable them, which means they're not loaded by GB-PVR. Sure, you can still see them in the config app, but this is only the configuration tool, not the actual application. Just ignore them, they're not doing any harm.
I know you are the programmer and its rediculous to disagree with you on your own program, but there are many channels from past recording sources that I have used that have stayed in the channel list, that aren't currently in a recording source.
I know I'm dredging up an old thread, but this applies to me. I am running the latest version of GBPVR and wanted to start from scratch loading my capture sources and epg info. I removed all four capture sources from config and exited. I went back into config and checked the "Channels Tab". Many of the channels had been deleted but there were quite a few remaining. Why is it not clearing all of them? This is causing me some headaches.

When I start from scratch, export my recordings from the plugins tab, close the config app, copy empty.db3 over gbpvr.db3 - this will clear channels and everything.
After adding your capture sources back in, go to the plugin tab & click import recordings (grab from recordings-dump.xml). This will pull all of your recordings back in.
At this point, none of your recurring recordings will be scheduled, but forcing a guide update takes care of this (may take a while depending on how many channels you have and how many recurring recordings you have).

Awesome! Thanks. I had the same problem of old recordings causing extra channels to be added to my Guide since I changed EPG sources. This works great!
