Hi

Directly after starting gbpvr I tried to use the dvb-t radio pluging but it hangs gbpvr. Checking on the dvb-t radio service I found it wasn't started. So I started it manually.

All now works fine - until the next computer restart.

Any ideas as to why this service isn't starting? It is set to automatic startup.

Tricky one to diagnose. As it starts manually OK and runs fine, then it doesn't suggest a problem with the radio service itself.

You could try looking at the Event logs - right click My Computer and choose Manage then look under System Tools, Event Viewer. The System log should contain a load of entries for 'Service Control Manager' - if a service fails to start the log entry will be marked as an error and it may contain the reason for failure.

I'm not sure if there'll be anything in the DVB-T Radio logs but if you zip and attach them I'll take a look.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi,

I'm using version 1.2.9 with Windows XP Media Center Edition and a V-Stream( now Kworld) DVB-T PCI 100 Card Revision C.

I installed the plugin in the GBPVR plugin folder but when I attempted to start it, I got error message 1053 which told me that the service did not start in a quick and timely manner.

Am I doing something wrong?

I'm not sure what the problem could be from your description.

Zip and attach the logs from the "DVB-T Radio\Logs" folder and I'll see if I can spot anything.

I've looked for the Logs folder but I cannot find one.

I ran GBPVR and it generated an error. I've attached the findings.

Hope this helps.

The download zip file for the plugin contains a dummy Logs folder. If you can't find it then perhaps you extracted the download into the wrong place.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Need to correct an earlier error of mine. I have a couple of machines and confused myself. The machine with the TV card uses Windows XP Pro. Sorry about that.

I extracted the DVBTRadio-1.3 zip file into the C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Plugins\DVBRadio folder.

I then ran the DvbtrServiceInstall BAT file to install the service. An MS-DOS window opened and the installation script started rolling.

Under Services the DVB Radio Service is listed and set to automatic. When I attempt to start it I get error 1053.

If I attempt to run GBPVR and select DVB-T Radio I get a dialog box with an unhandled exception message.

There is a MultiDec plugins folder. Should it go in there?

BTW, are there any TV Channel logos for the Freeview Channles please?

If you simply extract the DVBTRadio-1.3.zip file into the GBPVR folder, it will create a folder called "...\Plugins\DVB-T Radio" - it's important that the path to the files has this folder name.

If you created a folder called "...\DVBRadio" etc. it won't work. To fix this you'll need to open a command prompt where the install files are, run "DvbtrServiceInstall.bat /u" to uninstall the service then delete your DVBRadio folder. After that, simply extract the zip file into the GBPVR installation folder - it has the relevant path for the "Plugins\DVB-T Radio" sub folder and the skin folders etc.
