For some time now, I have had a problem with programs that are scheduled and appearing in the pending list for today disappear later in the evening. It seems to happen mostly just after the EPG update happens at 08:00, but sometimes also randomly later in the evening. Only TV One and TV 2 (Freeview HD) are affected.

When it happens, if I scroll down the pending list to the end (where the same day next week appears), I see the same programs that have just gone missing are listed for next week, but there are two listings for each program. If I scroll up a little, the top listing of the pair suddenly disappears from the screen leaving a hole in the pending list showing just background colour. I can still click on the disappeared entry to access its details, and I normally do that and cancel it and just leave the other entry for the program. Then I go to the Guide and tell it to record the missing programs using the Quick Record option, and the affected programs will then record normally.

It has just happened again tonight. I was recording only 2 programs tonight: "Once Upon A Time In Mexico" on TV 2 at 21:50 and "New Tricks" on TV One at 22:40. Both recordings were listed correctly earlier in the afternoon, but when I checked at about 20:10, "New Tricks" was gone and I had to add it again.

I think the problem may have started when I added my second USB tuner (Avermedia Volar) to my existing Hauppauge HVR-900, but I am not sure about that.

I have attached a full set of logs.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

I cant see an obvious cause in your logs. In your logs it looks like "Once Upon A Time In Mexico" was still scheduled to record after your EPG update, but the logs did cover the start time, so I cant see if it attempted to start it.

Its definitely worth changing the time of day you do your EPG date though. You're currently doing it at 8:00pm, which is in the middle of prime time viewing. It can delete scheduled recordings and recreate them during this time, so probably worth doing it at a time of day when you're unlikely to be recording.

Along these same lines but not the same.

Yesterday I removed my Twinhan 1027 DVB-S card & installed a PVR-3000 I picked up cheap secondhand in it's place so I could reinstall my M150 analog card that wouldn't work in the same computer as the 1027 until I get my recording/playback on the MVP issues sorted out for digital recordings (totally to do with the WAF). I mapped & enabled all the digital channels to the 3000, I didn't delete the 1027 by disabled all channels from it. I then ran an update EPG from the system menu on the MVP.

I am fairly sure I noticed in the pending list a couple of programs to be recorded off DVB-S but today noticed the wifes Animal Academy hadn't recorded at 8.00pm last night (recurring recording).

I have attached all the logs, but mainly I'm worried if the rest of the recurring DVB-S recording are going to record or not as this could really kill the WAF?

You've restarted the recording service several times since then, so the logs dont go back that far. Post the logs next time it happens and I'll take a look.

I seem to remember existing recordings can still try to record on a disabled channel. Whether a channel is disabled/enabled is only taken into account at scheduling time, when the recording is allocated to a tuner. No future recordings will be scheduled against a disabled channel though.

If you want to be sure existing scheduled recordings no longer try to record on those disabled channels, you'll probably need to delete and recreate them.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know, no biggie will go through & kill them now & recreate them, must keep the WAF up as she pays the bills Smile

"Once Upon A Time In Mexico" did record, as expected, since it never disappeared from the pending list.

I do not have many options for the EPG update time, as GBPVR is running on a noisy notebook PC that is normally switched off until some time between 19:00 and 20:00 each night when I turn it on for the night's recordings. It gets turned off again so I can sleep (it is by my bed). So 20:00 is as early as I can set EPG updates to happen when I know the PC is going to be on. If the PC is off when the update time happens, will the EPG update be done anyway when the PC is turned on, or will it be missed? If the former, I could set it to an earlier time and have the EPG update happen before any recordings, and do any necessary fixups then instead of having to come back between 20:00 and 20:30 to fix the problems.

Is there any other information I could collect that might point to what is going wrong? Any ideas as to why only TV One and TV 2 are affected?

It'll tell the PC to wake up for the EPG, so if you have it in standby/hibernate, then you should be able to do it any time you want.

More examples and logs would possible give more clues.
