I have 2 HVR-1600s and I am about to do my QAM scan which takes a little while.

I see some ini files in the BDA folder and I wonder if I can modify them to speed things up a bit.

My first QAM channel comes in at 71, so half the search is useless and time consuming. Can i tell the scanner to start at channel 70?

You can edit the qam.ini file, but you'll have to renumber them. Delete the first 71 entires, then renumber the rest to start at "1=71,0,0" and also edit the "0=138" to make it "0=68".

It only takes a few seconds in Excel to knock a quick file like this.
