This should not be used for GBPVR 1.3.7 (or newer) which contains native PID filtering as it will break the multi-record capabilities. See http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=59 for setting up the native PID filtering.
http://www.epgtools.com/gb_devs/HDHomeRu...Filter.zip Command line options: HDHRProgramFilter.exe ListOIDs HDHRProgramFilter.exe [deviceID]-[tuner] [oid] {channel} ([delay]) Parameters: [deviceID] The device ID of the HDHR to control. [tuner] The tuner number to control. Valid values: 0 or 1. [oid] The GBPVR capture source OID. {channel} Leave as is. GBPVR will supply the channel number. [delay] Optional. The delay (in seconds) before sending the command. Default is 3 seconds. Examples: HDHRProgramFilter.exe FFFFFFFF-0 4 {channel} HDHRProgramFilter.exe FFFFFFFF-0 4 {channel} 2 HDHRProgramFilter.exe FFFFFFFF-1 4 {channel} 2.5 Instructions:
A command will now be sent to the HDHomeRun to filter the tuned program. If the command is sent too fast, you can adjust the delay. This will work for ATSC as well as QAM.

What is this change for? If we already have a functioning HDHomeRun is there any reason to change? or is this tied to a firmware update?

The latest HDHR software allows you to select GBPVR as the application. When you do, it does not do any remapping. You can use TUNING_SPECIAL=1 in your bda.ini to tune QAM natively. The downside to that is that the entire 38Mbps stream is being sent across the network. The above utility is for filtering that stream to just the program you are recording/watching to cut down on the network traffic.
But to answer your question: No, there is no reason to change your working setup. You can if you want, but this is mainly just updated instructions for new setups.

Thanks Whurlston....picked up an HDHomerun on eBay today so I will be setting it up this week....having this info (hopefully) should make it easy for me to getup and running.

ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Z170-DELUXE Windows 10 Pro x64 PVR Software: NPVR 5.1.1 SiliconDust HDHomeRun HDHR5-4US Connect Quatro 4 Channel Tuner Roku Ultra 2 PCH A-100's
No problem.
One thing to note: If you have a QAM channel on say 71 (frequency 507Mhz) and you want to use the frequency in your qam.ini, it should be entered as 505250 and not 507000. The HDHomerun will automatically add the 1.25Mhz offset. The above Program Filter app is simple a wrapper for the HDHomeRun command line that performs the PID filtering. Seems to be working but I am not positive.....
From this shot of the HDHomeRun status box it looks like the stream from tuner 0 is filtered down to a single channel. By unclejohnsband However....this shot of tuner 1 does not seem to be filtering.... By unclejohnsband What do you think.....is the second one not filtering and if so...why?

The second one isn't filtered. It may be because the filter command got sent before the channel change completed. Try adjusting the time to a higher value. Default is 3 seconds so add say "5.0" to the end of the channel changer command.

Sub, Silicondust has updated the developer docs: http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/hdh...opment.pdf
From page 10: Quote:Filter by program number: There are other methods for filtering but this seemed like the easiest. |
