UltraXML Error 7, 55 & 52...program hangs

First may I suggest that you delete the log file when it gets really big. I don't have logic to check for this, and maybe I will add it because it HAS to add overhead, but in the meantime...

Second, you've described the situation that tells me that eguides is messing up. I will try to add logic to detect and skip, but this is a needle in the haystack that is always moving. it works for me...

I'll give the log file a purge and see if it helps. Also, I know you have an "include" list for which shows to look up if you do not want ep info for all shows. Is there an easy way to exclude a specific show. My guess is that whatever show is coming after Zula Patrol in the xml file must be the culprit as this has been the last show successfully processed. I'm thinking if I exclude that show (probably something I have never watched anyhow), it may solve my issue.

I'm going to try and add to the log, something that will report the line count in th xml file when an error happens. then in notepad, we can fly down to that entry and see what's happening

I have had problems with it hanging when my internet connection has gone down - perhaps your issue is similar

The way I access the internet is with the inet..ocx. It has incredibly long timeouts when there are errors and I have no way to change that.

I was thinking of using the winsock control to download my data that way. Much better error handling, but it would take work. And I've been busy...

Oh well, I'll look at that when I can...

It's very likely that -OZ-'s Yapi tool also has the very same problem...

I was able to try running UltraXMLTV after purging my log file. 'No help...but it did make scrolling to the errors in the log faster.

I like you line count idea...it sounds like it would be a very efficient way to locate the problemed record(s)

I tried the new version. No joy...I get the same error messages. Log attached. I noticed when I copied the files for the new version that it was replacing some files with older versions than what were there originally. Probably does not matter, but I thought I would mention it in case it does.

I've uploaded a new version that has replaced all silly error message boxes with log entires and resumes. In theory there may be errors still, but at least the program will try and get all the way through

I tried the new version. I like the extra logging info...great idea. It appears it choked on "The young and the restless" which I could care less about, so I'd be happy to try excluding that show if you get to the point of being able to have an exclude list. 'Don't know if it is something about this record or not as UltraXML made it much further through the process than it used to, but it might be worth a try. My most recent log is attached. Let me know if I can do anything else to help you track down the problem.

Well I had another fire to put out. TheTVDB.com changed their data grabbing technique.
