I'd only try that 'out of process' setting if you have multiple capture devices.

Dont use the 'reuse mdapi filter' setting with this w version of the filter.

Sheik Yerbouti Wrote:I just gave multidec another chance, and it seems to work fine (without the GBPVR fix, not a long test though). I do have a question: what's the best setup of the multidec flags setup? I mean the following flags:
- Record out of process;
- Reuse MDAPI filter;

Thanks for your effort, Heerfordt!

Hi there fellow Dutchman, with what plugin do you use this? I'm using acamd+newcs with mixed results...

Same as you. I tried this a few months ago, but the recording service kept crashing, messing up my analog recordings as well. The crashing seems gone, but I haven't tested it that long. I have noticed that live TV is always working, but recording is not. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't decrypt. If I can get this working reliable, I'll let you know.

I've tested it further and it's definitely working better than with my previous attempts using MD-plugins. I think it's very positive the recording service isn't crashing anymore.

But for some strange reason, newcs sometimes doesn't decrypt. I keep getting: "ECM -> username (NOT OK) 0604 0000 1F44". What could be causing it to not work, while most of the times it's working perfectly? And if the card has been in a decoder, it's always working right away. I suppose this could be an EMM issue, but the NOT OK is for ECM. I must admit that I know very litle about this process. Btw, I have the same issues using ProgDVB, so it's not a GBPVR problem.

Is it normal that it can take some time for newcs to decrypt? Sometimes it takes a few minutes until the NOT OK changes to OK. Maybe someone can give me some info about this? Thanks!

This is normal but also frustrates me. The thing is that EMM messages are sent in a cyclic way for all created and registered smartcards. Each EMM message contains a key specific for that card. The cycle time is around 10-15 minutes for Ziggo, so it could take upto this time before decoding can commence. Btw, if you're using newcs and a cardreader, set the ecm and emm cache to 0, this makes sure that each emm/ecm is sent to the smartcard.

The Dvb-C settop-boxes that are normally used remain in standby and therefor can still receive the ECM/EMM keys. A PC that is switched off for some time cannot.

Another reason why Ziggo sucks Big Grin. Thanks for your answers!

I wonder if it would be possible to keep the MD Plugin running always in the background (like the recording service) so when you launch pvrx2, the plugin would already be active and have the info it needs for the decrypt. Otherwise, you have to wait for stuff to come down the stream before you can watch anything.

That actually sounds like a good idea - would it eat much resources running all the time?

Sounds good, but wouldn't the plugin need a stream before it can do anything? So GBPVR would have to be recording a dummy recording or something like that.

It doesn't need to be recording, just tuned to an encrypted channel without rendering the content. The same behaviour is what DVBSBridge does, it runs in a service in the background. The only issue is that you need to keep your PC on at all times, not even in standby.
