Had the chance to tinker with this for a little while again, and I have it working. I haven't got all the channels yet. But I have most. I tried to install on my HTPC (XP) and that was giving me trouble. Tried the same routine on my office PC (Vista) running and had the exact same results. HDHR software finds all the channels, PVRX does not find any.

On a great tip from ILovejedd (THANKS!), PVRX found channels after I set the application in the HDHR software to ATSC/QAM. Unfortunately, all the channels came up "Unknown". Reset the app as ATSC/Remap in HDHR and PVRX found all the previous channels with the station id's. Nice!

Just working on finding the last few channel tuning strings for the channels PVRX did not find, and I'll be all set. I have attached the scan cashe, if anyone can fill in some blanks for Time Warner Cable, I would appreciate it.
I need the numbers for:
WGN
MTV
KTLA (The CW)
AETV HD
HSTRYHD
CNN

Thanks for the help!

Can you post the config.*.log files showing a scan. I'll also need your "C:\ProgramData\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\Digital Cable.xml" file. I'm not sure of the location on XP.

It looks like you are still set up for remap mode. If you want to use remap mode, comment out the TUNING_SPECIAL parameter in your bda.ini by placing a semicolon in front of it:

Code:
[B];[/B]TUNING_SPECIAL=1

The scan should then pick up all your channels.

*sigh* So envious. My cable provider barely has anything on unencrypted QAM. Just a thought, are you sure Time Warner hasn't moved channels around just recently? Looking at your Digital Cable.xml, you have multiple entries for KTLADT, KTTVDT, etc. Re-scanning with HDHomeRun set-up and letting it remove channels that it couldn't find is worth a try (preferrably when you don't have anything scheduled to be recorded, etc). Deleting scan-cache might be a good idea so you've got a clean slate when you map channels on GB-PVR again.

Cool, I'll try it. It's not that I wanted to use remap, that was the only way PVRX found the channels. If setting the HDHR software to GBPVR worked on my two machines, I would have been up and running an hour after the tuner arrived. I don't know why it didn't, but just glad it's almost all working now.

Time Warner just added the HD versions of all these channels a little while ago. The free carry's have been on the same freq.'s for awhile. The last shake up was about a year ago.

I have no idea how long A&E and History HD etc. will be non-encrypted. They may disappear. Thanks for the tip on scanning. I will try out all the suggestions tomorrow.

Have been enjoying HD in PVRX thanks to this thread and having a great time. Three tuners (2 HDHR/1 TheaterPro550) is awesome!

One little config I haven't figured out yet, my bedroom PC acts as a client via streaming and works well with the 550. Can I adjust something so that I can stream the channels from the Homeruns and the recordings created from them?
Thanks.

Found out a few more things. I can't get the digital HD channel recordings or live TV with the digital channels to work if the client is set to streaming mode. If I move the recordings into the video directory, they play fine (ts or dvr-ms). Client set to file sharing and the digital recordings will play back from the recordings directory. This is about as far as I am going to take it. Playing back HD recordings on the client machine is fine. My bedroom set has a built in ATSC tuner for live tv.

Very pleased on how everything is working though. PVRX rocks! BTW Ilovejedd, Time Warner shut down everything but the locals on the HD feed. Lasted about 3 weeks.

Thanks again for the help on getting it set up.
