Wow. Using Schedules direct with the GBPVR database is a huge PITA. What a kludgy method of interacting with the channels. There has got to be a better way of mapping channels than config offers -seems as though it was designed to manage <~25 channels, not in excess of 200 like D* offers. Jeez, what happens when D* remaps the channels again? - CHAOS! Are there any better tools/methods out there?

If you can arrange for DishNetwork or BEV to move their satellite over New Zealand temporarily, I'll sort out support for their non-standard DVB EPG implementation Big Grin

Or grab a .ts file with the proper PIDs and FTP it to sub. Also, the open source mediaportal project has working code for the North America EPG.

That was funny. Unfortunately, I am not so strong in the ways of the force:p

Are you saying Mediaportal may be a better option for me than GBPVR? It just hit me....GB (pvr). I guess I am the dumb yank here.

No, I was saying that sub can get EPG code that works from mediaportal.

Hmm. I mapped some channels using Schedules Direct, but I still don't have any info in the epg for the DVB-S channels. I don't know what is going wrong.

Would I use that TSReader program to do that? I downloaded the free version of that program earlier this year, but couldn't figure how to make it work. I think my DVBDream will record to .ts. Is that good enough? How do I make sure it has "proper PIDs?"

Also, I got good sat scans for 119W and 110W, and spent about three hours mapping many of the channels; my epg is not working properly, but I find that when I try to tune any channels in PVRX2, I now only get a black screen.

I suspect what dream will record is just the video and audio PIDs so no, that probably won't work. TSReader would be the best bet.

Would the free version work? If so, I have to start figuring out how to get it going.

I just looked at the TSReader web page and no, the free one will not record files.

But I believe the PIDs are:

PID 300 for 7 day EPG on TP 18 of 119W
PID 12 is for now and next.
