Hi Psycik,

I'm trying to get the latest version of your excellent Music Library2 plugin working with GBPVR version 1.2.13. This will be my first installation of GBPVR and Music Library2 and I have just negotiated my way round a few of the pitfalls referred to above and got it working with a small test library and without the Tag scanning programs.
I'm now trying to scan my full library with the tagscanners in place and am having a few problems.
I attach the config log, if you could offer any advice it would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Regards

Mostly it looks like it complaining about the ultraid3lib.dll - hunt out all copies of that - GBPVR directory, gbpvr\plugins gbpvr\plugins\Common and gbpvr\plugins\Musiclibrary2 and remove it (or rename it if you want remove it's extention).

Then try your scan again.

Another user had a similar error, but he was getting a no method found on Get_Composer - yours is complaining of a more basic missing method....

Thanks for the reply. Yes, removing Ultra3ID allowed it to scan and I get all of my music showing up. The only niggle now is that the album art isn't showing up (there is a "folder.jpg" in every album folder as well as artwork in the tags) - it doesn't seem to find either.

While I'm typing I have two further questions:

1. Is there a way of doing "page down" in the left hand pane? I have a lot of music and it takes a long time to scroll to artists in the middle of the alphabet!

2. Does Music Library2 use a different Mpeg decoder to Music Library? The reason I ask is that having listened to several of the same tracks played on both, the sound quality definitely isn't quite as good when using Music Library2. I'm wondering whether I need to remove a decoder from my PC to leave only the "good" one. I would like to do this as I definitely prefer the front end of Music Library2.

Thanks again for all the effort you put into this - it really is appreciated.

It should, and especially folder.jpg. Can you set debug logging and post the logs.

I use a hauppauge remote and the channel keys should do a page down. I think they are mapped to Page up page down. Also you can "type" with the remote or a keyboard to skip to the first letter of an artist, so typing "Are" would jump to Aretha Franklin

No it uses the same as the standard musiclibrary. ML2 is actually only a front end, and once you have chosen your music, it is passed to the gbpvr system to play, and then ML2 can control next, previous, stop etc.

Chris

You're welcome, I've been a bit slow on the upgrades, but i guess that's ok when it's pretty stable.

Thanks again.

Here's the log. I had a look to see if there was anything obvious even to a numpty like me but all I noticed was that it had failed to find a skin file, don't know whether that could have anything to do with it.

I only have the 34 button Hauppauge remote and channels are mapped to up/down arrows rather than PageUp/PageDown, but I can type using the numbers as you suggest and it works a treat so that's that niggle resolved!

Cheers!

Can you go into the config app and turn on internal musicLibrary2 loggin and then post the pvrx2.exe.log and the musiclibary2.log

Yeah the controls for ML2 are designed for the 45 Button remote but glad you've found the remote text entry...

I can't see it trying to load album art. The last option is to turn on insane logging and perform the same action (start it, queue some tracks, switch to playlist screen). Then turn it off again, the logs are huge. I think I added better logging in this area for the version 8 versions.

Here it is!

Incidentally, what are the Dd*.m3u files that seem to keep appearing?

Thanks again!

They would bee saved playlists... are you naming them?? They should be being saved as Last Played.m3u

There's a setting in the config app that should set the path to save these files.
