GameZone 2.8 released

First off let me say, people are always welcome to update and add to the wiki. So please add your findings so that others following dont feel the same pain.

Now on to thar pain.

GameZone is effectively an application launcher and that is it in a nutshell.

When you setup an emulator you should first get it working by launching it outside of gamezame, this will involve you setting it up for your audio, video and controllers. when you are happy that the emulator works well on your PC that it is stable and you have presumable located rom files to play on it. then the next stage is to introduce it to gamezone.

At this stage Gamezone should be configured to launch the application, and provide the locations to the rom files if required. some options will be automatically picked up and set to mimic the way you have setr them up on the emulator. alas on some emulators you may have to set the options once agin WHY!!! I hear you cry now I have to set it up twice....

Simple answer is in most cases these are standard options that people may want to set that the emulator has exposed as an option on the commandline, which is how gamezone launches applications.

I am hoping this has explained some of the frustration you may be feeling when you are effectively setting up an emulator twice.

This will be better at getting me started. Am I right in thinking that the ePSX is installed with Gamezone. Also does anyone have links to forums or installation instructions for each of the individual Emu Setups that would be way helpful. I will see what info I can pull together and post. Thanks.

not in the later versions of Gamezone. I pulled ePSXe out of the base install. The original idea was to have gamezone install the emulators this proved not to be a smart idea

Just some feedback.
- Finally go around to updating to 2.8 over the top of a 2.6 install. All went very well.
I was also able to clean up some of my PC launched games by putting in the proper entries in the fields rather than guessing. It is truly remarkable what one can learn by reading the wiki!
