I already have a problem with pause, but rewind ff etc.. don't work either.
They work on recorded stuff, so I know the buttons on the remote work.

Some config setting?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

this log is playing live tv, waiting about 20 seconds or so. Trying to step back, then trying rewind. Then trying ff, then hitting pause.
then trying to hit play, back, pause again. Just anything to get it to respond.

You're watching live tv in live preview mode (ie no buffering to disk), so its definitely not going to be able to rewind/skip etc until you've paused the stream (to begin buffering). After pausing, press play, let it play for a while, then hit the skip back button and you should be able to jump back as far as the point you started buffering (when you pressed pause that first time).

If you want it to always be able to skip back etc, then you can to disable live preview mode. This will mean slower channel changes etc though.

After I hit pause, if I hit play again, it just hangs.
System shows not responding no matter how long I leave it set like that.

When I had live preview disabled, I couldn't watch live tv at all.

I dont know if its the cause or not, but you seem to be using an old version of the Cyberlink decoder which is incompatible with the VMR renderer, causing it to endup with two video renderers. This could cause all sorts of odd problems.

I see it came from power dvd. I installed because it said it needed a decoder.
I will uninstall it and see if it helps.

uninstalling was enough to fix it.
I removed power dvd and rebooted. Now I can pause.
Maybe that will fix some of my other problems.
Thanks again.
