Hi,

I am running GB-PVR 1.2.13 with a Hauppauge Nova-T USB. The rest of the system is Xp SP 3, ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro, 3GB Ram.

I can watch live TV no problem.

However, if I start timeshifting, there is video but no sound, and after about 5 seconds it stops and returns to the main menu screen.

Similarly if I record something, there is video but no audio.

If I play the recording back through VLC, everything is fine.

I have tried all the Audio Decoders that are listed. I am using Live Preview mode, and have tried both with and without encoder pass through. I have also installed the MPA decoder mentioned on the forums a few times without any luck.

I have also checked that the Recording and Buffer directories point to the existing directories.

Any ideas?

I attach the log files...

Its most likely to do with the 'Nero Digital Audio Decoder' directshow is choosing to use for playback. Try selecting another audio decoder.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I have switched the Audio Decoder to "MPEG Audio Decoder" - this solves the problem of the timeshifted program closing to the menu after five seconds - BUT it does not solve the problem of the missing audio.

As I said, I have tried all Audio Decoders listed, and most of the Audio Renderers. Do you have any other suggestions I might try? Other decoders I might get hold of?

If it is of any help, I have the same problem on my laptop (which also has a Realtek audio chipset).

Thanks again for the quick response and of course, GBPVR itself!

best wishes,

M

Thats also not a great decoder. Try installing and selecting this decoder: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPA_Decoder.htm

Thanks again for the tip, but I have already tried the MPA decoder with no success. Any other suggestions? GB-PVR works perfectly apart from this...

Try it with that MPA decoder, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Hi Sub

I don't know whether jumping in on this thread is the right thing to do but I have exactly the same problem. Tried several Audio Decoders including MPA and AC3Filter. Mine does it with LiveTV too but that will because I have Live Preview turned off.

Logs attached - if you have time to have a quick look that would be great.

Thanks!

I would try setting the audio renderer back to 'system default'.

Hi,

Thanks again for the quick response - it really is much appreciated.

Anyway, I attach the log files with the MPA decoder selected - I hope something useful emerges from them...

Sorry, I'd meant to ask for pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log. Can you post these after reproducing the problem?
