Question about MCE Remote

I am running Windows XP home edition, using Beyond TV, Firefly Remote, and a wireless keyboard and mouse. I also use a Universal Remote Control (with learning capability) to control my TV, DVD player, Stereo Receiver, and etc.

The Firefly Remote works great but will not wake my computer up from a S3 standby. Currently I use my wireless mouse (2 left clicks), connected to USB port, to wake my computer up and then I have to switch to my URC to turn on my TV and Receiver, then I use my Firefly to control Beyond TV and other software that I use like Power DVD and Media Monkey.

Would a MCE remote and receiver dongle work with my configuration to wake my computer, or must I be running Windows Media Center? Would the MCE remote control Beyond TV and other software?

I use this remote:

Which turns my PVR on/off (because it is an MCE remote), has an integrated mouse, and is a learning remote that controls my other components. I use it with EventGhost (which could also control Beyond TV I believe), but IR server suite would work just as well.

I would search around though for drivers for newer MCE remotes before I bought one. Many of them only work with XP Pro, MCE, or Vista.
