I currently am running MCE2005 and would like to install GBPVR. Are there any none issues? Can I select which one I want to record TV programs?

I don't have MCE2005 but I'm sure it works. I do have Vista Media Center and GBPVR and both work fine together HOWEVER, my PVR500 with 2 tuners won't record from both MC and GBPVR at the same time. I'm sure there's a way around it but I think once you get use to all GBPVR has going for it, you won't be using MC much anymore.

I'm not entirely sure what your second question is, but your first: YES! You will probably not want your MCE interface to automatically start. There are a few services that you might not want running, but are harmless otherwise. If you have an MCE remote, you may have to tweak the registry, so the buttons can be mapped for GB-PVR rather than call up MCE functions... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=33633 PS, after I reread your second question I think you're asking if you can select which program (GB-PVR or MCE) will record. If that's it: Yes, with a lot of tweaking and trouble. But I would suggest using one or the other. And you will probably find GB-PVR will make you happier in the medium and long term...

I have GBPVR running on a machine that is using MCE 2005 as its OS the only issue that you may find is that some buttons on the MCE remote will trigger MCE to pull up if you're using GBPVR (like hitting the guide button) this is easy enough to fix just by disabling the process that uses that. I just stopped bothering MCE because I found it too buggy. I've been much happier with GBPVR.

As above i ran MCE for ages, then moved to media portal for awhile then pvrx2 (latest gbpvr) and I haven't moved since and now the girlfriend wouldn't let me move even if i wanted to.

I run my GB-PVR slave on MCE 2005. I replaced the standard remote control drivers with the ones available at http://burningzeroad.free.fr/MceIrApi.rar with no problems. I use Event Ghost to control pvrx2 - the setup was pretty easy. But if you have the right version of the MCE remote, GB-PVR can take commands from it directly.
