The Hauppage PVR 1600 has two inputs and tuners. Does that provide capability to record two shows at the same time as long as they each have cable feeds?
One input is for analog and the other input is for ATSC/QAM. You can record 1 analog program while recording 1 ATSC/QAM program. The HVR0-2250 has dual analog and dual ATSC/QAM capabilities so that you could record 4 shows at one time.
You might want to visit the Hauppauge site for more info on these cards.

That looks attractive, but, I only have a PCI slot. I have to create a single PCI slot by going to a USB wireless network connection on this computer. The on board network connection doesn't work and I used the empty slot for a network card. My options are limited.
The HVR-1600 (which I have) has one digital tuner and one analog tuner. I have an outdoor antenna connected to the digital tuner, and my cable line going to the analog tuner. I can record two shows at once (1 digital, 1 analog) with the one card.
The HVR-2250 also has TWO tuners, but each tuner supports both analog and digital. You can still only record two shows at once, but they can be any combination of digital or analog.
Sorry, I wasn't thinking right when I posted above. I have the 2250 so I certainly know better that it can only record 2 shows at the same time or watch 1 and record another. I also have a PVR500 in the same system so I'm able to record 4 shows at one time.
So, apologies for the confusion to you from me.

I am not sure what is missing in what people wrote above, but there is one analog and one digital tuner. If you connect cable to each connection you will have the possibility of recording one analog channel and one clear QAM channel.
The HVR-1600 has one analog and one digital tuner and it can record both an analog and digital at the same time.
The HVR-2250 has two analog turners and two digital tuners so it would seem it should be able to do four recordings at once since it has four tuners in it.
The Hauppauge site though clearly says only two at a time - the only advantage is that it could be two analogs, two digitals, or one analog and one digital.
It seems odd it can't do four, but it must be some hardware issue with the card that it can only output two at a time. It sounds like an interesting replacement for an PVR-500 for someone who has lots of clear qam channels though.
